Glossy Box - June

Howdy folks

I love having a nose at what everyone else got in their Glossy Box. I've not always been a fan of my contents in comparison, but I suppose that's the joy of it all? Erm maybe not, I still think a Universal box is a better option, but to be fair my last couple of boxes have been okay. This months I'm quite pleased with. Here's what I got.

Dermablend™ Ultra-Corrective Foundation Cream Stick (RRP  £19 / 12g) - Corrective concealer. Looks alright. I quite like heavy concealers as I have loads of freckles. Not really the most exciting sample, but I'll give it a go.

Glossybox Serie Exclusive Pro Beauty Brush (no price) - Another Glossy box product. Goes very well with last months mirror compact. Not the softest brush but I like that its something which will last.

Caudalie Eaux Fraiches Zeste de Vigne Fresh Fragrance (RRP £26 / 50ml) - Caudalie writes "combines the fragrance created by orange and lemon leaves when rubbed between the fingers with sparkling lemon, sweet orange and energizing mandarin". Good sample size, smells like lemon sherbet. Loving the Caudalie products so quite happy I got this.

BM Beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer (RRP £8.00 / 4g) - Liked the last BM product I got. Only thing with these that the powder goes everywhere when you open the pots. I like the fact that other loose powder brands usually have the protective lid with holes in to stop spillage. This is quite a nice shade, has a slight shimmer to it.

MeMeMe Cosmetics Nail polish in Sensuous (RRP £4.50 / 12ml) - Yay I love getting mini polishes in beauty boxes (for obvious reasons). Not a massively 'high end' polish but I like Me Me Me products. The colour is okay, a very 'safe' shade that's not going to offend the less hardcore nail polish fans.

Overall yeah not a bad box. Nothing particularly offensive or horrendous in sight. I like all the products and I shall look forward to next months box.

Glossy Box - May Anniversary...Bald Eyebrows Anyone??

Hello Peoples

I have a confession! I signed back up to Glossy Box. I was missing my monthly fix of beauty products, so back on the Glossy Box bandwagon I went. Plus it was Glossy Box's Anniversary. Here's what I got...

Osmon Berber Hair Treatment (rrp £19.99 for 100mls) - This smells lush, like a bag of pic 'n' mix but nicer. Its apparently a treatment for dry and wet hair. Very much looking forward to using this.

Apivita Express Beauty Masks (rrp £3.50 per sachet) Looks okay, glad I got two sachets, I know others got a tube of mud mask, but I'm happy with the sachets...honestly *sigh*.

Noble Isle Summer Rising Bath and Shower Gel (rrp not stated) - This is another product which smells divine. A British bath and body brand inspired by the Bristish Isles. Look forward to taking this on holiday with me.

Lolita Lempicka L'Eau en Blan and Eau de Parfum (rrp £65, 100mls). These also smell sweet and summery. Glad to see two samples as these are usually free.

FREE Glossy Box Mirror - Nice touch Glossy Box, quite handy too.

HD Brows Grow Baby Grow (rrp £29.95 per tube) - Now this one made me raise a brow (excuse the bad pun). I was like huh what's this? Not the fact it was for the folically challenged in the brow department which confused me, some people do suffer from having sparse eyebrows due to over plucking, illness and the alike, however Glossy box stated the wrong info on the product card.

As you can see Glossy Box states Grow Baby Grow is for fine lines and to firm delicate skin, although this clearly designed for helping eyebrow growth on the HD brow info.

Overall I'm happy with this months box, I feel I've actually got my money's worth and all the products smell gorgeous. I know some people was unhappy with receiving false eyelashes made with real human hair, instead of the pricier HD brow products. Once again I think age has something to do with it...maybe those over a certain age stop wearing false eyelashes and start going brow bald?? No, on a serious note, I think Glossy Box should really consider having a universal box, as consumers are always going to think the glossy box is greener on the other side.

Whats in your box? Anything you like/dislike?

Not Impressed Glossy Box February

Hello Everyone

After the sudden departure of the Feelunique Beauty Box, I was worried I would get beauty box withdrawal symptoms. So I signed up for Glossy Box to gets my beauty box fix. It was more expensive then the Feelunique box as you have to pay postage on top of the £10.00 a month. I was willing to overlook that as the box promised '5 high end' samples each month.

Eyeshadow

Lip Tint

Included in this months box, was

BECCA- Beach Tint Watermelon
AWAPUHI WILD GINGER BY PAUL MITCHELL - Styling Treatment Oil
DR BRONNER'S MAGIC SOAPS - Lavender Hand Sanitiser
COMO SHAMBHALA - Invigorate Shower Gel
BM BEAUTY - Pure Mineral Eyeshadow in Her Majesty

Products were on the small side, and I wasn't impressed with the fact that I've seen on other reviews that some received a 6th product which did not (I think because of the age group). The worse thing for me was the hand sanitiser. I rarely swear on my blog, but believe me a few choice words were uttered when I saw this. Who the hell wants hand sanitiser! If I wanted to sign up for bacteria monthly I would have! seriously! So it's safe to say, while I haven't yet tried these products, I'm not impressed with this my first Glossy Box.

I'm willing to give everyone a second chance. To be fair, the box was well presented and I received the box within a good time. I'm seeing if Glossy Box improves for March. If not then ta ta, no thanks.

Feelunique Beauty Box - February...Best box yet?

Hello Folks

I'm blogging real late tonight. I wanted to get this post out before tomorrow as I won't get a chance otherwise. My Feelunique box arrived this morning. Here's what was inside...

Decleor Phytopeel Face Peel Cream 15ml (RRP £23.40 for 50ml)

Really excited to get a Decleor product as I've never tried their brand before. Smells quite nice, the lavender doesn't overpower too much. The cream has a pearlescent effect which I like although it doesn't leave horrible shimmer everywhere.

Feelunique write:

A soft cream formula which exfoliates and smoothes the epidermis. It gently absorbs and eliminates impurities, and does not contain exfoliating particles, the gentlest and most natural way to renew your skin. It:

- Helps cleanse skin and removes impurities
- Removes dead skin cells
- Helps stimulate the cellular renewal process

Your clean, healthy and smooth skin recovers its even texture and has a healthy glow.

Directions for use: Use once or twice a week. Apply a generous layer to face and neck. Allow to dry. Gently massage, using upward circular movements. Remove excess with a cotton pad soaked in Tonifying Lotion.

Active Ingredients: Essential Oils of Marjoram, Lavender, Thyme and Lemon, Plant Extracts of Burdock, Elder Tree and Mallow, Green Clay.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-usage dry oil 10ml (RRP £17.00 for 50ml)

Another product I'm really excited to try. I've never used a dry oil before, and it completely absorbs into the skin. Smells quite nice too, not too sweet or cloying.

Feelunique say:

Multi-usage dry oil for face, body and hair.A favourite of Elle’s Beauty Director, Emma Smith:

“Slather this on dry legs as soon as you jump out of the shower to keep your legs smooth and moisturised. It smells delicious.”
Huile Prodigieuse is a dry oil with a unique superactivated formula combining 30% Precious Plant Oils and Vitamin E to nourish, repair and soften face, body and hair in a single gesture.

Benefits: Face and body are soft and velvety. Hair is supple, glossy and full of volume.

Active Ingredients:A unique cocktail of 6 Precious Plant Oils (Borage, St Johnswort, Sweet Almond, Camellia, Hazelnut, Macadamia) with a subtle fragrance for a velvety skin, silky hair and an improved overall aspect of stretch marks.

This oil is suitable for all skin and hair types regardless of age (from 36 months onward).

Apply on your face, body and hair all year long, in the summer as well as in winter.

Tips:- Mix a drop of Huile Prodigieuse with your foundation: it will glide smoothly on your skin without clinging.
- Pour a small amount of Huile Prodigieuse in the palm of your hand and gently ruffle your hair for a natural effect.
- Pour a few drops of Huile Prodigieuse in your bath for a blissful moment.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer 40ml (RRP £12.25 for 75ml)

I've been wanting to try this for ages, I've seen it advertised on QVC many times, but never got round to ordering it. Has no fragrance I can detect, possibly a putty/clay like smell.

Feelunique say:

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer should always form part of your routine to continuously improve or maintain the quality and behaviour of your hair. Extremely broken, damaged hair – whether the result of chemical over processing, physical trauma or poor health, will also improve with concentrated use of Elasticizer. More frequent use of this intensive treatment formula will restore suppleness, elasticity, shine and bounce.A favourite of Glamour Magazine’s Beauty Director, Alessandra Steinherr:

“It feels gooey, but rinses out entirely weightlessly and manages to leave hair deeply nourished and shiny.”

Elemis Lime and Ginger Hand and Body Wash 100ml (RRP £18.40 for 300ml)

I LOVE ELEMIS! Although the brand is slightly out of my price range at the moment, so excited to receive one of their products. Like the fragrance of this one too, actually quite spicy and masculine smelling. Feelunique you've made me one happy bunny!

Feelunique state:

This fresh hand and body wash is a beautiful exotic fragrance of lime, vetiver, petitgrain and ginger essential oils, combined with plant extracts of thyme, nettle and chamomile, in a soya, wheat and milk protein base. This skin friendly formula is deep cleansing, whilst the rich creamy lather is super gentle, leaving your skin feeling fresh, clean, soft and nourished.

Use Elemis Sp@Home Lime and Ginger Hand and Body Wash in the shower morning and evening, or as a hand wash throughout the day.

Lime, Vetiver, Petitgrain, Ginger, Thyme, Nettle, Soy, Wheat & Milk Proteins and Chamomile.

The Elemis Promise - Elemis Sp@Home Lime and Ginger Hand and Body Wash is free from: parabens, SLS, SLES, DEA, mineral oils, artificial colours & silicones.

Leighton Denny High Performance Nail Nail Colour Viva La Diva 4.6ml (RRP $11.00 for 12ml)

Another beloved bottle of polish wooooo! Slightly disappointed it's another coral/pinky colour, shame we can't put down preferences (I so want you Ink Jet). But pleased to see a polish sample in the collection. Can't complain, the shade fits in with the 'month of love' theme the box has going on.

Feelunique say:

High performance nail colour. Easy to apply, long-lasting and chip resistant. Colour that doesn't fade and keeps a high gloss shine day after day.

Ensure nail tips are smooth and even and the nails are clean, dry and free from any oily residue. Apply a base coat to the nail and allow to dry.

The Leighton Denny base coat, Undercover, dries matt to help grip nail colour and tell you that it is time to apply the nail colour. Roll the colour bottle between the hands to mix it up; never shake it as this can cause air bubbles.

Apply two thin coats over the base coat rather than one thick coat. This helps reduce chipping and extend wear time. Wipe one side of the brush on the neck of the bottle so it holds just enough to cover one nail. Present the brush to the nail about 2mm away from the cuticle then push the brush towards the cuticle before making the usual sweep back towards the tip.

Ideally, finish with Crystal Finish topcoat to help seal the colour and again extend wear time. Tidy any mistakes with the Precision Corrector Liquid. Dip the brush into the bottle then use the brush like an eraser to remove and tidy.

For the fastest finish, drip a little Miracle Drops over the polish to speed up drying time.

Jean Paul Gaultier Kokorico 1ml (RRP £31.05 for 50ml)

The only real disappointment of the box and it's the little perfume sample. Absolutely stinks, can't work out if it is male or female scent? Reminds me of the cheap deodorant the boys used to wear at school, think Lynx Africa but gone off. I love men's Jean Paul Gultier Pour Homme, this is just ghastly.

Feelunqiue says:

A powerful, dynamic, aphrodisiac fragrance: the raw cocoa bean collides with the sprightly freshness of the fig leaf and livens up the timeless elegance of woods.

A striking and unusual bottle. With a trick of the eye a man's face is shown when viewed from the front and turns into a sexy and virile torso in profile.

Olfactory family: Woody Cocoa.

Top notes: Fig Leaf.
Middle notes: Raw Cocoa Bean.
Base notes: Woods.

Final thoughts...Love this months box! Really makes up for January's one.

UPDATE: I received an email from Feelunique on 9th February informing me that they will be ending the Beauty box as of this month :-( so it appears they have saved the best til last.

Feelunique Beauty Box - January

Hi there

Yup, I'm a bit behind with my posting. Sorry. I got this last week and I've not really had much time to dedicate to my blog, I have an essay due which means I have 'chronic procrastination syndrome' which I'm trying to combat.

So a quick post on what I received this month from Feelunique (I used the Feelunique images for products as mine were a bit rushed, so images may be of full product sizes)

First up...

Lierac Coherence L.IR Infrared Lifting Cream 15ml - Usually £56.55 for 50ml

Good size sample although I'm not sure what age range is this product is designed for?

'Drawing inspiration from dermatological infrared laser techniques, this advanced formula, with its soft and velvety texture, helps reactivate the synthesis of collagen fibers. Featuring combination of collagen III accelerating vectors and micronised tourmaline crystals, Lierac Coherence L.IR Infrared Lifting Cream produces a virtual "face-resculpting" effect. Skin looks visibly "lifted" and regains optimum firmness. The oval of the face appears ideally redesigned'

Green People Gentle Cleanse 10ml - Usually £15.25 per 200ml

I'm bit disappointed with the sample size of this one, looks more like a lip gloss. Still, I shall look forward to trying this...er once.

Want to liberate your skin from pollutants and impurities? Purify with beautiful Gentle Cleanse. 2 in 1 organic cleanser: make-up remover and face wash. For all skin types.

- Formulated to balance, nourish and moisturise.
- Anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory properties.
- Rich, sensual aroma from pure plant sources.
- Suitable for areas of sensitive skin and safely removes eye make-up (including waterproof mascara).
Caudalie Vinotherapie Nourishing Body Lotion 50ml - Usually £21.50 for 400ml

Now this is more like it, better sample size. I need a good body lotion and this smells lovely and fresh.

Caudalie Nourishing Body Lotion is a rich, hydrating body treatment, enriched with plant-derived ingredients that provides intense nutrition and anti-oxidant action to your skin. Unctuous, it encourages micro-circulation and helps prevent premature skin aging.

This nourishing lotion by Caudalie leaves skin gorgeously soft and firm.

Caudalie Vinotherapie Nourishing Body Lotion can also be used by pregnant women as it promotes micro-circulation and can help to prevent stretch marks.

Phyto PhytoBaume Color Protect Express Conditioner  20ml - usually £10.20 for 150ml

Another good sample size. I have coloured hair so I'm looking forward to trying this one. Doesn't really smell of much though.

Grapefruit and sea buckthorn extracts, castor oil, sunflower extract, hibiscus flower acids, mallow extraction (78%).
Phyto PhytoBaume Color Protect Express Conditioner instantly detangles and protects colour-treated or highlighted hair. Sea buckthorn extract has nurturing and antioxidant properties that acts as a cellular protector to lock-in colour and prevent fading. Grapefruit extract combined with hibiscus flower acids seal the cuticle for ultimate shine.

Hair becomes easier to detangle with improved manageability, and is soft and shiny. Colour is protected and vibrant.

Dead Sea Spa Magik Salt Brushing 50g x2 - Usually £12.25 for 500g

Good sample sizes once again. I'm not a huge fan of these salt scrubs, but for me that's more about the texture of salt on me. It reminds me of sand which I hate. Still I'll give it a go.
This is Dead Sea Spa Magik's number one, best-selling product. Suitable for those who desire a highly nourishing exfoliating treatment. It naturally exfoliates without irritating. Vitamin E is an anti-oxidant therefore having an anti-ageing and healing effect, and the Coconut oil nourishes and hydrates the skin.

Features:
- Helps break down adipose tissue
- Reduces cellulite
- Detoxifies the body
- Increases lymph flow
- Improves blood circulation
- Speeds up cell metabolism and stimulates cell regeneration
- Relaxes the muscles
- Soothes nerve endings.

Also included was a 2ml Lierac Comfort Peel. While I like these little extras Feelunique include, I'd rather a perfume sample.

Verdict: YAWN. What a boring box Feelunique! tut tut. I think that not much thought has gone into this month's box at all, rather it's just been thrown together. STILL I've received good sample sizes (bar one) and the Feelunique beauty box is still free delivery. While a good cleanser or toner is great to try, what people really want are some make up products to sample. This I think is what I think Feelunique boxes are ultimately  lacking.

Anyone else received theirs? Any thoughts?

Feelunique Beauty Box - December

Howdy Folks

I'm really annoyed with myself, I got no swatches done what so ever due to me getting home so late today, what a wally. Never mind. I also got some fabulous news, I was the winner of Melanie's 23rd Birthday Giveaway over at The Color Palette. SO blooming chuffed, I've never won a giveaway before. I'm so very grateful to Melanie for the prize. I can't wait to try out some of them great polishes. Her blog is also awesome, so check her out here.

Further good news - I got my Feelunique Box this morning. I was really shocked to get a delivery on a Sunday? Post office must be starting a holiday schedule or something??

TIGI Bed Head Candy Fixations Sugar Dust 1g (FULL SIZE) Very similar to last months product, (Schwarzkopf Professional Dust It Mattifying Powder) although that was 10g. This is pretty big packaging for just 1g. Still a full size product which is usually priced at £9.35.

Annick Goutal Mandragore Eau De Toilette 25ml - Really impressed with the size of this scent bottle. I can't work out if I like this scent or not? Slightly reminds me of a 'hippy old school teacher' type of smell which doesn't sound appealing. Anyhoo, a really good amount of smelly stuff which usually retails at £58.65 for 50mls.

'Annick Goutal Mandragore Eau De Parfum has a higher concentration of aromatic woody notes that accentuate the power and vitality of this mysterious blend. A magical potion that acts as a soothing balm for the skin.'

Top Notes: Bergamot and pepper.
Heart Notes: Mint and star anise.
Base Notes: Boxwood, ginger and mandrake

Figs & Rouge Sweet Geranium 100% Organic Balm 8ml (FULL SIZE) - Wearing this as I write, Very hydrating and feels great on my lips although this also has the 'hippy old school teacher' kinda smell to it. I'm not a huge fan of floral scents, and this is a bit too floral for my liking. I would like however to try some of the other varieties which Feelunique stock such as the Pomegranate balm. Usually retails at £3.49 a pot.

Clarisonic Nourishing Care Cleanser 30ml - Not tried this yet, although I'm glad I got a match to my skin type (Normal/dry skin). Feelunique writes:

'This luxurious, hydrating, creamy skin cleanser provides natural moisturisation for dry, delicate skin. Olive oil and shea butter help condition and moisturise. Provitamin B5, sodium hyaluronate and sodium PCA promote skin’s ability to attract and retain moisture. Japanese green tea helps protect against free radicals associated with skin ageing. Specially formulated for sonic cleansing'

Usually retails at £21.00 for 177ml

Nails Inc Oxford Circus Nail Polish 4ml - Yay! another polish...although it's pink grrr. Why oh why does it have to be pink?! Oxford Circus is a very pretty shade of pink, but its not me at all. Retail Price £11 usually for 10ml

Living Nature Samples x3 2ml - Consists of three samples, a Vitalising cleanser, Hydrating Toning Gel and Nourishing day cream. Not tried these yet either, but might give these a go before bed tonight.

SO final thoughts on my December box? A tad smelly or should I say fragrant box this month although I'm still very impressed. So some of it isn't to my taste. True. But its fair to say Feelunique are not going to please everyone, every single time. I'm gladly going to continue my Feelunique beauty box in to the new year with eager anticipation for my January box. :)

Have a wonderful week everyone! Are you looking forward to your Feelunique Box?
