Topshop - Nails in Lead

Hello Everyone,

It's been quite a while since my last post. Today I have Topshop's - Lead. This colour was originally released in 2010 as part of their Heavy Metal Collection but now Topshop have released it into their core line.

This is 2 coats of Lead. Great coverage on this, really opaque in one coat. Lead is a gunmetal grey almost black with a green/blue/purple duochrome. Has tiny micro-particles which shimmer in direct light. Really pretty. Glad Topshop brough this back. Price £6.00 from Topshop.

Jade Holographic - Magia Negra + Giveaway Reminder!

Hello Everyone!

Firstly last chance to enter my giveaway which will close in 10hours click the picture on the side bar to enter. I'm Right, that's out of the way now holo business. I have the second Jade holographic polish to show you all, this one is Magia Negra a fabulously amazing blinging black holo.

This is two coats of Magia Negra, a black linear holo. Isn't this stunning? Coverage was really good on this one, thinner than Vermelho Surreal. I think the holo affect is more prominent too, its so sparkly.

I know a few of you are waiting to see the Barry M Chameleons so I'll hopefully get to play with them this weekend and get some swatches up.

Speak soon

W7 - Metallic Jupiter

Well hello there!

It's suddenly winter here in London. It has that damp, smoggy atmosphere which I'm going to admit, I quite like. I dug my winter coat out this morning for the first time.

Today I have the 5th W7 Metallic - Metallic Jupiter. A dark blackened glass flecked purple/blue duochrome, similar to Mercury but darker. Has some gold in the bottle, but couldn't capture on the nail.

Sunlight

This is 3 coats of Metallic Jupiter, application wasn't too bad. Built up well. I have to say this is probably one of my favourites of the collection. The duochrome is subtle, but looks really complex and stunning on the nail. I couldn't capture how deep and rich this was in reality. I'm a sucker for dark shades though. Has similar properties to Orly - Galaxy Girl, although Metallic Jupiter appears darker. Would be interesting to see how this compares.

Anyone else in winter gear yet? I need a new wardrobe, my jumpers are a little tight...no doubt they will get tighter over Christmas. I'm a greedy guts over the holidays.

Enjoy

W7 - Metallic Neptune

Evening All

Another W7 Metallic today, this time Metallic Neptune. A Green/Blue/Purple shimmer duochrome. Soon as I saw this one I thought Leighton Denny - Your Planet or Mine! Need to check a comparison of the two.

I like Metallic Neptune, slightly better coverage and more opaque than Mars. This is 3 coats. Looked really nice on the nail. More of a subtle duochrome in comparison to the first two from the collection, but still lovely.

For those who didn't see on twitter, I missed out on the Models Own Beetlejuice Collection. I was totally devastated and threw a right tantrum lol. Emailed Models Own and the box sets won't be back in stock til the end of November (that's if I don't miss them again!). So these W7's are a nice little distraction.

Enjoy. More swatches to follow.

Leighton Denny - Your Planet Or Mine

Evening Everyone!

Hope everyone is well! I'm currently in the process of procrastination, as I have an annotated bibliography to begin for University this week. Yawn, much rather talk polish. Today I have for you a polish from Leighton Denny's Atmospheric Collection - Your Planet Or Mine, Described as 'Oil-on-water effect polish with purple, brown, blue and green undertones'. I would say a teal/blue/purple duochrome. Didn't see any brown in there? It also looks a heck different in real life compared to the picture on Leighton Denny's website. It reality the teal is a lot darker.

This is super fab fab fab. I know, another duochrome! This looks so gorgeous on. The formula was amazing as well. This is 2 coats. I couldn't capture the full awesomeness of the duochrome, but it is there! Promise.

Now because I like meddling in everything, I decided to try out a topcoat I made using my spectraflair and some clear polish. Here is the result.

What do you think? The topcoat was slightly silvery over Your Planet or Mine, but looked holo delicious in the light. This will keep me going until I can get my hands on some Glitter Gal - Lizard
Belly. Price for a Leighton Denny polish? £11 each, but you can pick up a bargain on Ebay.

Oh well, I better start some studying now :-(
Enjoy and thanks for reading!

Liquorice Nails - Boots 17 Magnetic Nail Polish - Grey

Howdy folks

After showing you three Boots 17 Magnetic Nail polishes last week, I was still missing one of the collection, Grey. So of course I had to have it!

I love it! It looks like liquorice. I'm liking this season's nail trend very much. My boyfriend even let me paint his nails with this! I already had polish on and we were round a friends house. I wanted to try it out. He agreed for a laugh.  He usually takes the micky out of my nail polish obsession, but when I painted them, he seemed quite taken with it and kept on staring at his nails, it was hilarious! He wouldn't let me take any pictures though, which was a shame :-)

So verdict? Boots 17 Magnetic Polish Rocks or Not?...IT totally Rocks!

A bit of Klean fun - Chunky Holo Black

Hi ya all

So this is my 49th post. Wow doesn't time fly when your having polish fun. I want to say a big hi to all my new followers! Hello :-) So chuffed that anyone givse my little page a gander.

Today I have another Kleancolor polish - Chunky Holo Black. This is such an unusual polish, not because of the glitter (that's stunning) but because of the brown jelly consistency. I overdid it buy using 2 coats. Should of just stuck to one.

As you can see it's a brown jelly rather than black, although when indoors it's more darker in appearance. Didn't get an indoor shot though. Sorry.

My application was awful but I thought I would show you the shots anyway. The holographic glitter is really effective in this polish, indoors and outside. This is layered over Rimmel Black. The glitter particles are larger in the Kleancolor polish in comparison to the other holos they produce. It smells a bit  funky but it's worth it.

I'm going to try and get the other Kleancolors I bought swatched, as hopefully I will be putting some new orders in on their metallic range. For $1.75 each you can't go wrong.

Ta ta for now.

P.s 5 days to go til Olympia Beauty (yeah yeah).

NYX - Dorothy

Hello all!

This is a scheduled post! I'm currently (or hope I am) in Torquay sunning myself up (yeah right more likely shivering). After swatching Revlon's Facets of Fuchsia I wanted to swatch the other Deborah Lippmann dupe I own, NYX - Dorothy. Apparently a dupe of Ruby Red Slippers. I bought Dorothy when I ordered my Kleancolor's from Beauty Joint.

With flash

SOOOO sexy! ha ha. Doesn't this just scream sultry and sexy. This is 1 coat of Dorothy over Rimmel 60 seconds Black. Luscious :-) I'm back from Torquay Monday so until then...

Enjoy folks!

Andrea Fulerton Nail Boutique- Nail Tattoos Skull and Cross Bones

Hello All

Since my Andrea Fulerton pics have been generating a lot of interest, I thought I would show you some pics of Andrea Fulerton's Skull and Cross Bones Nail Tattoos. I used this in my mani ages ago but never got round to posting.

I used Color Club Revvvolution as a base and used one of the Nail Tattoos on my index finger. The pics of Revvvolution do not do it any justice because it was indoors, so I will probably swatch this one again for you. The nail tattoo looked great on and removed easily with polish remover.

Purchased from Superdrugs for £1.99

Revlon - Facets of Fucshia

Hello Everyone!

Nearly September! Gosh where has this year gone!? I swear I can hear Jingle Bells already. Today I have for you Revlon's new shade - Facets of Fuchsia. Apparently a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance. Haven't a clue on this as I'm a polish pauper and I can't afford it :-) Facets of Fuchsia is a purple based jelly containing silver regular and hexagonal glitter. The glitter looks fuchsia because of the purple jelly. A glamorous polish, perfect for the fall/winter season and dare I say it...office Xmas parties :-S

Started off with a base of Rimmel Black 60 seconds and used 2 coats of Facets of Fuchsia. I tried Facets of Fuchsia on its own and got opacity in 4 coats, but it ended up a pretty thick mani. No topcoat used. Purchased from Boots in store for £4.29 although I used my loyalty points and got it for free.
Am I being too premature about Christmas? or like me can you feel the frosty chill of Santa breathing down your neck (I do actually like Christmas though!)
