W7 - Metallic Jupiter

Well hello there!

It's suddenly winter here in London. It has that damp, smoggy atmosphere which I'm going to admit, I quite like. I dug my winter coat out this morning for the first time.

Today I have the 5th W7 Metallic - Metallic Jupiter. A dark blackened glass flecked purple/blue duochrome, similar to Mercury but darker. Has some gold in the bottle, but couldn't capture on the nail.

Sunlight

This is 3 coats of Metallic Jupiter, application wasn't too bad. Built up well. I have to say this is probably one of my favourites of the collection. The duochrome is subtle, but looks really complex and stunning on the nail. I couldn't capture how deep and rich this was in reality. I'm a sucker for dark shades though. Has similar properties to Orly - Galaxy Girl, although Metallic Jupiter appears darker. Would be interesting to see how this compares.

Anyone else in winter gear yet? I need a new wardrobe, my jumpers are a little tight...no doubt they will get tighter over Christmas. I'm a greedy guts over the holidays.

Enjoy

W7 - Metallic Neptune

Evening All

Another W7 Metallic today, this time Metallic Neptune. A Green/Blue/Purple shimmer duochrome. Soon as I saw this one I thought Leighton Denny - Your Planet or Mine! Need to check a comparison of the two.

I like Metallic Neptune, slightly better coverage and more opaque than Mars. This is 3 coats. Looked really nice on the nail. More of a subtle duochrome in comparison to the first two from the collection, but still lovely.

For those who didn't see on twitter, I missed out on the Models Own Beetlejuice Collection. I was totally devastated and threw a right tantrum lol. Emailed Models Own and the box sets won't be back in stock til the end of November (that's if I don't miss them again!). So these W7's are a nice little distraction.

Enjoy. More swatches to follow.

Leighton Denny - Your Planet Or Mine

Evening Everyone!

Hope everyone is well! I'm currently in the process of procrastination, as I have an annotated bibliography to begin for University this week. Yawn, much rather talk polish. Today I have for you a polish from Leighton Denny's Atmospheric Collection - Your Planet Or Mine, Described as 'Oil-on-water effect polish with purple, brown, blue and green undertones'. I would say a teal/blue/purple duochrome. Didn't see any brown in there? It also looks a heck different in real life compared to the picture on Leighton Denny's website. It reality the teal is a lot darker.

This is super fab fab fab. I know, another duochrome! This looks so gorgeous on. The formula was amazing as well. This is 2 coats. I couldn't capture the full awesomeness of the duochrome, but it is there! Promise.

Now because I like meddling in everything, I decided to try out a topcoat I made using my spectraflair and some clear polish. Here is the result.

What do you think? The topcoat was slightly silvery over Your Planet or Mine, but looked holo delicious in the light. This will keep me going until I can get my hands on some Glitter Gal - Lizard
Belly. Price for a Leighton Denny polish? £11 each, but you can pick up a bargain on Ebay.

Oh well, I better start some studying now :-(
Enjoy and thanks for reading!

YSSY Nail Polish - Color 73

Hello Everyone!

Here is a lovely polish my sister picked up for me when she went to Spain on holiday a couple of months ago. It's great, when people go abroad, they don't bring back souvenirs for me, I get polish! Yssy - 73 made by Yesensy Cosmetics is a light powder blue polish containing silver shimmer. Marvelous.

Formula was really good on this although a little sheer, it needed three coats but applied smoothly. I was tempted to added flakies to this, but I resisted. I've got to learn to leave a good polish alone!

What do people bring back for you when they go on holiday?

Boots 17 Magnetic Nail Polish

Hello you lovely people!

Very excited today, as I have the new Boots 17 Magnetic nail polishes to show you. Never used a magnetic polish before, so I was looking forward to these for ages!

And I thought I would do some magnetic skittles to show off the other shades I got!

These polishes are so much fun! Creating the effect is also easy, you just apply the polish and then hover the magnet over your nail when still wet. You get this wavy effect. Blooming brilliant! The polish also has this awesome glassy effect. The only way I can describe the finish is to a boiled sweet. All colours are gorgeous, with the Lilac being my surprisingly favourite of the bunch. This is 2 coats of the polish. No topcoat used. The effect is really striking and looks super cool. Will hopefully pick the Grey shade up in a couple of weeks.

Have any of you tried these out yet? Whats your favourite shade?

Available from Boots for £5.99 each.

Andrea Fulerton Trio Nail Polish - Rainfall

Hi Everyone!

Yes, It's Friday and I have that Friday flakie feeling! Seriously how wonderful has this weather been?! I'm loving the sunshine!

I have another flakie polish for you today Andrea Fulterton's Trio - Rainfall. Now I know my last review of the trio polishes wasn't so flattering, I had some serious gloopy applications problems going on, but I thought I would give this brand another chance at redeeming itself seeing as I loved the Andrea Fulterton's Mischa so much.

This is 2 coats of the flakie polish contained in the Trio. I only used this polish as I wasn't blown away by the colour of the second polish (the metallic blue), it looks nice enough but nothing special. The 'flakie' polish in this trio is a bright blue/purple/blurple sheer base containing blue/green flakies.

I used 2 coats of the flakies on 2 coats of OPI - Yoga-ta get this blue a gorgeous navy blue polish. I love this combo so much. I couldn't stop staring at my nails, truly mesmerising. My pics don;t do this any  justice. If I was to suggest getting any of these trio polishes, I would suggest getting this one. It's my favourite so far. Using the flakie polish over an OPI polish gave me no problems at all.

I'm going to try using the flakie polish with the other Trio blue metallic polish and see what results I get. I have also included a couple of Andrea Fulterton products in the giveaway I have planned, but that's not til I reach my follower milestone :-)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

NOTD - Nails Inc Garrick Street

Hello Everyone

It was such a lovely day here in London today. Can't believe how warm it has been, but It's getting harder to take swatch pics as we are losing the light. I don't have a posh light box, I use my garden :-) I had to use the window sill to get the last bit of today's sunshine. Today I have for you Nails Inc - Garrick Street. A blue/purple/green duochrome. Absolutely stunning and super glossy.

I got this off ebay. So glad I did, it's gorgeous. The formula was good on this too. This is 2 coats. Can you tell I like duochromes just a little bit :-)

Enjoy

Saffron London Glitter Nail Polish 05

Hello everyone!

I've been on a cheap nail polish kick recently. Buying from the 99p stores and pound shops. Today I have polish which I came across on Amazon UK. Not heard much of this brand before, It was relatively cheap...well extremely cheap at 79p each. I bought two. This glitter was one of them.

This is the polish over 2 coats of H & M Blue polish. Saffron London Glitter 05 is a sheer blue based polish containing purple, blue and hexagonal glitter. I think this was 2 coats of the glitter over blue. I really liked it, for 79p it's quite a nice glitter. It sparkled lovely outside. It absolutely stank to high heaven though! The bottle was a bit cheap looking and the cap a bit flimsy. Overall, not bad for a low priced polish.

Have you heard of this brand? Any thoughts?
