BRAND NEW ILLAMASQUA - Nomad

Hello Everyone

Something exciting today, a swatch of one of the nail polishes in the new Human Fundamentalism collection - Nomad. I was lucky enough to get this shade in my goody bag.

Flash

Natural Light

This is two coats of Nomad - a minted jade colour creme. Application wise, perfect in two coats, like most Illamasqua's, the formula is bang on. Really like this colour, I don't have many greens like this in my collection as I'm usually a fan of darker more forest greens. This however is a real 'Brit Festival' kinda colour , a shade which will go perfect with my festival attire of wellies, trilby hat and tan (given the sunshine of course). Nomad is a very vibrant mint green, not washed out at all. More of a neon then an ice cream mint and I'm glad it doesn't give me the dreaded 'red claw' effect. So while your knee deep in mud listening to your favourite band, least your nails will look immaculate.

The Human Fundamentalism Collection is now available for pre-order and will be available from 14th March 2012.

Brand New From Illamasqua - Human Fundamentalismm

Hello All

Yesterday I had the amazing pleasure at being invited to Illamasqua's SS12 Collection Launch - Human Fundamentalism. With Milkshake, Cherry Aid and some retro sweets to great me at the entrance, I knew I was in for more than one treat.

The new collection consists of 11 pieces. Two Eye shadow Palettes consisting of four colours each of varying textures. Six Powder Eye Shadows, A Precision Ink pen (Pure White), Two new Varnishes and Two new Lipsticks and a Limited Edition Skin Base Foundation (AU - Dark tan with gold shimmer). Upon arrival I immediately recognised myself as a little fish in a big pond, and the other fishes has massive posh cameras in comparison to my piddly Samsung camera. So images are not the greatest.

Neutral Palette - Powder Eye Shadow Stealth (Buttermilk), Wolf (Chocolate Brown) Vitage (Antique Gold) Obsidian (Black).

Fundamental Palette - Liquid Metal in Surge (Molten Pewter), Cream Pigment in Bedaub (Mint Green), Powder Eye Shadows in Hype (Bold Yellow) and Inception (Violet).

Powder Eye Shadow - Vernau (Peanut), Cancan (Lilac), Sex (White), Burst (Teal), Obsidian (Black) and Pivot (Yellow Green)

Nail Varnish - Nomad (Jade) and Stance (Bright Mauve).

Lipstick - Apocalips (Bright Teal) and Box (Deep Scarlet)

Nails used within the Human Fundamentalism shoot created by the lovely Rebecca Jade Wilson.

Some Bling

After hearing the title 'Human Fundamentalism' for Illamasqua's new collection a couple weeks back. I had no idea where Illamasqua was going with this one. However the new collection is amazing, with of course the new nail polishes being my favourite. The collection does indeed have an 'Urban Tribe' feel to it, and is a a mixture of tribal, modern culture with a hit of colouful psychedelica.

Collection available for pre-order today from Illamasqua online.

Any pieces you like the look of?

Illamasqua Baptiste vs W7 Purple Paradise

Howdy,

Today I have a comparison with Illamasqua's Baptiste to W7's Purple Paradise as requested. I thought when trying Baptiste it had similar properties to Purple Paradise. So on to the comparison.

As you can see, similar but not total dupes. Both Baptiste and Purple Paradise contain that gorgeous pink iridescent shimmer, although Baptiste is darker and blue toned. W7's Purple Paradise is more of a red toned purple. This is two coats of both on the comparison shots (can't remember on the full swatches?). Purple Paradise was thicker but had more of that glow while Baptiste was for me the better formula as it was more opaque in 1 coat and applied evenly.  Price wise, a big difference. Illasmasqua polishes retail for £13.50 each, while W7 retails at £1.99.

Do you need both? Erm... I'm going to say maybe as they are different toned purples on the same wave length. Depends on if you are a collector or a bargain hunter. Both polishes are stunning.

Illasmasqua - Notepad Yellow

Hello Everyone

I'm on a bit of a Illasmasqua polish kick at the moment. I picked this one up on Ebay a couple of weeks back, although I can't find out anything about it? Its called Notepad Yellow. Looks slightly like 'Load' but not sure if this is a old discontinued shade?

This is 3 coats. Bit of a pain in the butt to apply, like most yellows. Liked how it looked though, very milky. I could see this one being worn on the toes in the Spring. Bit baffed about where this one is from though?

Anyone know?

Illamasqua - Baptiste

Hello Again

Okay, I couldn't wait to put these up! As promised, swatches :-) Here is Illamasqua's - Baptiste, one of the polishes I picked up at the 'Cocktails and Painted Nails' event yesterday. I've wanted this polish for like ages. So it was my first purchase choice :-)

Natural Sunlight

Oh god, this was one photogenic polish! This is two coats of Baptiste, formula was perfection. It actually reminds me of W7 Purple Paradise, although this is less jelly like and darker.

Any Illasmasqua favourites I should try?

Cocktails, Cupcakes and Painted Nails @ Illamasqua

Hello Everyone

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a 'Cocktails and Painted Nails' event at Illamasqua's Beak Street store which was in association with Omoge.

(I never got either of these ladies names! Sorry, so rubbish!)

Not only was I treated to try out some of Illamasqua's amazing products, I also got my make up and nails done while sipping Champagne.

One of the fabulous cupcakes, chocolate fudge with lemon cream cheese frosting, yum.

I had a great day visiting Illamasqua, and I recommend popping in the Beak Street store whenever your visiting the Regent street/Canarby Street area.  I also got to meet with some fellow bloggers and I met the wonderful Clare @ CclareBear.com and Gemma @ Gemsies.blogspot.com. As you all know I'm relatively new to the blogging scene so meeting other bloggers was my highlight of the evening.

My visit wouldn't have been complete without purchasing some polish. I picked up three bottles, I wanted like 10!!  I got Baptiste, Taint....And Raindrops!!! woo

Swatches to follow soon

Beetle Larvae - A Scarab Spranken

Hello Nail poppers

Finally the sun came out for a split second this week for me to photograph the holo franken I created using Illamasqua - Scarab and MUA - Shade 7. I also used some Barry M - Red Black and some Nails Inc - Saville Row in this one as sometimes spectraflair can dilute a shade making it less vibrant.

Here it is...Beetle Larvae

Really pleased with this one, I think its quite christmassy too. More of a scattered holo in comparison to other sprankens I've made. Of course I could have used my holo topcoat over Scarab, but it wouldn't have been so fun :-)

Have a wonderful evening all!!
