Hits No Olimpo - Hestia

Afternoon all,

Short post today. How about another holo? Another polish I received in a recent fab swap. This is Hits - Hestia, from the No Olimpo collection.

This is 3 coats of Hestia, a linear lavender/pink holo. Scrumptious - even if it is pink. Love this collection. I wish these wasn't so expensive in delivery otherwise I'd have the whole lot of them. Hestia is named after the greek goddess of the hearth and architecture, daughter of Chronus and Rhea. I love Greek mythology, all of the No Olimpo collection is named after a Greek gods/goddesses. I'm particularly after Ares as it looks gorgeous.

What do you think?

Boots 17 Spring Shade - Spring Petal

Happy Friday everyone!

I know I shouldn't wish my life away, but I love it when it hits the end of the week and I can just chill. Today I have the last polish in the Boots 17 Spring nail collection - Spring Petal.

This is 2 coats of Spring Petal. I struggled with the consistency of this one, quite thick. Much more a creme then a shimmer, and not so jelly like in comparison to Juicy. Spring Petal is a pinkish coral creme containing pink shimmer. Reminds me of a pink rose, for a pink I quite like it.

Once again, available at Boots for £2.99.

Maybelline - Pink Shimmer Rose Metal 185

Hi everyone!

Hope your week is going well! Today I have for you a Maybelline polish I spotted on ebay a couple of months back - Pink Shimmer Rose Metal (185). Can't seem to find much information on this, all I know is that it exists :-)

Really pretty and feminine this one...not at all like me lol. Pink Shimmer Rose Metal (long ass name) or whatever this is called, is a pink to gold duochrome. This is 4 coats. Very sheer, application was very thin and slightly watery. I like how this looks on though, even if it is pink. I think this cost me about £2.50?

What do you think? Pretty pink or pretty blah?

W7 - Metallic Mercury

Howdy

Happy Friday everyone. Today I have for you the second polish out of the W7 Metallic collection - Metallic Mercury. A plum/brown/gold glass flecked duochrome.

Indoors

This is gorgeous! Only 2 coats needed. Good coverage and much better formula than Metallic Mars. This is everything I hoped Zoya - Valerie would be, although Valerie is that deep delicious purple. Not as strong colour shift in comparison to Mars, but a good effect all the same.

Love the fact that this collections contains not just multichrome/duochrome shimmers, but also glass flecked shades.

Bootiful :-)

Enjoy Folks.

W7- Metallic Mars

Hello Everyone!

Finally, I've got some swatches done! About blooming time. Today I have for you Metallic Mars from the new W7 Metallic collection I showed you a couple of days back. Metallic Mars is a Pink/Purple/Orange/Gold duochrome polish.

Reminds me a lot of Nubar - Iris Dust. Might try and get a comparison done, although I think Iris Dust has more of a brown tone. This is three coats, could of done with a 4th as it's very sheer. Really stinky formula, so guessing it isn't Big 3 free. Drying time was good and I ended up with a lovely glossy finish. A really strong colour shift in this one.

BUT I didn't like it on :-( I'm not a big fan of Iris Dust either, I don't know why? For me it's just a bit too sickly, not tacky, just a bit too much pink for my taste.  Price £1.99 available at Savers.

So first one down. What do you guys think?

Orly Fantasea vs Stargazer 128

Evening Everyone!

Well I've been meaning to swatch more Stargazers since I featured Stargazer - 121 here. But like a lazy madame, I never got round to it. Well I dug out Stargazer - 128 and thought that it looked slightly similar to Orly - Fantasea. Well, only one way to find out. Comparison swatch.

I used 3 coats of Orly - Fantasea on my middle finger and 3 coats of Stargazer - 128 on the rest. Very similar, both quite sheer, both super glowy and iridescent. Fantasea is slightly more purple base while 128 has a more red tone. They both contain that stunning golden shimmer. Application wise, Stargazer was easier to apply in my opinion, although it had that notorious smelling formula. Orly was a little bit harder to apply, sightly thicker and dragged a little. For the polish collectors out there, not dupes, but very similar. My mum would tell me off for buying both, but I'm glad I have them!

Price? Well Stargazers are pretty cheap for a UK brand only £2.50 each (14ml) available from their online Store here. Orly is slightly more expensive ranging from £5-£9 (18ml) depending on where you buy. I got mine off ebay. I also have Stargazer 127 which is also similar to both of these, but more pink/gold. I'll try and get a swatch of that also :-)

Which do you prefer? Have you tried any of these?

Colour Changing Topcoat Part Deux

Evening Peoples

Hope you've had a wonderful weekend. I had a mega shopping spree today, and bought a tonne of polish, including some Topshop Smoke and Mirrors polishes (bought 3 of them) woo hoo!

Here is another mani I created using the colour changing topcoat I made, this time over Color Club - Electronica, from the Dance To The Musique Collection 2008, a gorgeous deep purple shimmer containing micro glitter.

Electronica

And now 2 coats of my Colour Changing Topcoat

What do you think? I love how it transforms Electronica into something completely different! Hmmm I wonder what this would look like over a dark green...or navy blue?  The possibilities are endless!! I might stick a bottle of this in my upcoming giveaway. I was going to wait until I reached the 100 follower mark, but I'm just dying to start it! Hopefully I'll start it next week or something.

Thanks for reading!

OPI - Movin' Out

Hello there ladies

Woo I've had to time complete a post! I have a gorgeous old OPI polish today from the 2003 Holiday on Broadway Collection - Movin' Out. It's a sheer pink based duochrome/multichrome which looks gorgeous over a dark colour. I layered it over good old faithful Rimmel Black 60 Seconds. The is 2 coats of Movin' Out, although I used 1 coat on my pinky to show the different effect this wonderful polish can achieve. I'm sure you've seen it already, so no harm in showing it again :-)

How gorgeous is this polish! Every colour you get from this beauty. I actually think I prefer only 1 coat. I got this bad boy at my infamous nail shop. So glad that little place exists. This makes me want to hunt down some of the other OPI oldies and duochromes. I seriously want OPI's Glacier Bay Blues.

Enjoy

Gosh Nail Glitter Paillettes Pour Ongles - 05 Ruby Red

Hi ya everyone!

Hope your week is going well. I'm getting very excited as I'm off to Torquay today, ahhh the English Riviera! Can't wait. I booked it through the £9.50 Sun holidays. Ha ha! Cheap and Cheerful. Today I have my experiment with Gosh's new nail glitter Ruby Red. I picked up one the other week from Superdrugs. Decided on Rimmel's 60 Seconds Deliciously Dark, a dark plum/black polish and then used the glitter on my nail tips.

I know, it looks a blooming mess! I got it everywhere! ha ha. I reckon that I could do a better job a second time round. I used a topcoat over this, but I don't think I was supposed to. The glitter was pretty though. I really wanted the charcoal/black glitter but they had sold out. Cost £3.99 a pot. I used a minimal amount for this mani really, I have loads left.

P.s My car is okay!!. Got it back yesterday. Phew. It still needs a new clutch, but that can wait a week or two! So happy.

Will you be getting any of these glitter pots? Have a wonderful weekend!
