The 'Duochrome' finally hits the UK

Hi All,

A few press shots of some of the new releases in the UK. The Duochrome/Multichrome trend has finally landed here. Its only a few years behind everywhere else.

Rimmel

Purple Rain

Royal Blue

Pearly Queen

God Save the Queen

Miss Sporty

Aurora Borealis, Beetle Wings and Fiery Blaze

Topshop also have duochromes/multichromes some of which I've featured on my blog here. Barry M also have a couple of shades, Models Own have the Beetle Juice Collection and H & M has the shade Lady Luck. Also not forgetting Nail Pop's Kimono. So if your struggling to find polishes to curb your duochrome fever and missed out on the infamous Chanel Peridot there are a few places that now stock this type of polish. Hallelujah.

Midnight Holo

Hello there!

After seeing a bazillion A-England Tristam swatches, I knew what I wanted. BUT I'm skint and currently on a 'no buy' ban til after Christmas. Being a student and having a unhealthy love of expensive polish is a not just a bad mix, it's a damn travesty! There is so many polishes I want right now. My budget just doesn't stretch far enough.

So I needed an alternative until January arrives. I dug out one of my favourite gorgeous blue shimmers, Rimmel - Midnight Blue. I painted 2 coats then used 1 coat of my home made holographic topcoat.

These pics were taken on a sunny but very misty day, as the sun was setting. My camera wasn't picking up the gorgeous holo-y effect I was seeing. So I decided to take some indoor flash shots for you all.

Darker then Tristam I think from the web pics? but I love this combo! I had this on for 3 days, I lurvvve it so much. It looks much linear in reality. THEN I thought well...while I'm at it, why not an attempt at a duochrome-holo like an Ozotic Pro Mish Mash? (another polish collection that I will never see *sob*).

Rimmel Midnight Blue + Holo Topcoat + 1 coat Red-Green Colour Changing Topcoat.

I've been seeing  a lot of Galaxy Nails posts in the 31 day nail challenge. I haven't got the patience or skills to attempt the challenge, but I think this wouldn't be a bad 'Galaxy Nails' mani.

What do you all think? Sorry for the huge amount of pics, I get a little over excited :-D

Rimmel 60 Seconds - Hard Edged 850

Hello there!

Today I thought I would show you one of the prizes from my current giveaway. I originally picked this one up just for myself :-) I got a second bottle for you after seeing what a fab polish this is! I use Rimmel polishes a lot, especially for layering. Not with this stunner though, this deserves to be the star show, without being teamed with anything else. Meet Hard Edged, a beautiful brown/black cherry shimmer with a slight duochrome finish. From Rimmel's 2008 Autumn collection.

Nice huh? This is 3 coats. Applied beautifully. Love this polish, one of the reasons I included a bottle in my giveaway. If you haven't already entered you can by clicking here.

Any favourite Rimmel shades?

Enjoy

Colour Changing Topcoat

Hello peeps

How's it hanging? Hope your all having a fabulous week. Today I have a topcoat I created using the red-green colour changing powder I got from Kitties26 @ More Nail Polish. I've shown you loads of frankens using the spectraflair but none of the colour changing powder! Why? I have no idea, it's such a gorgeous topcoat. Warning very pic heavy.

I created the topcoat by using clear polish and three small scoops of the colour changing pigment powder. This is 2 coats over Rimmel 60 seconds Black. Bit of a slap dash application sorry, but you get the idea. This topcoat looks stunning over other shades too! More swatches to follow.

Pumpkin Spectraflair Franken Attempt

Afternoon All

Hope your all having a wonderful fabulous amazing weekend! Today I have for you that Pumpkin holo fraken attempt I did for Halloween. Erm not sure if its a success or not? I like the colour and I think its not a bad attempt at all but it's nothing like a pumpkin lol. More like a Squash. I couldn't tell you the exact recipe for this, I threw in anything and everything in this one. I was going for more of the outside of a pumpkin, the hide or rusk or whatever the name for it.

Okay so I have this Orange Rusty Rose colour...more like a Peach maybe? Different I suppose :-) Anyhoo it is what it is. Name for this? Couldn't think of one. None at all. My creative energies have deserted me completely. As I can't give you a recipe but I can tell you some of the polishes I used:

China Glaze - Life Preserver
Topshop - Country Bumpkin
Rimmel - Tangerine Queen
2true - Orange Metallic (not sure what shade sorry!)
Rest Clear polish and 3 scoops spectraflair

Enjoy the rest of you day and weekend peeps!

Mushroom Holo Spectraflair Fraken

Hello Lovely People

I have another spectraflair fraken post, this time my attempt at a brown. I wanted a deep chocolate brown holo, instead I got a mushroom. I'll take that. Please excuse the horrific cuticles :-( Ahhh they disgust me! Why can't I have have pretty fingers?!

I only stopped adding more of the Miss Sporty polish because I had reached the top of the bottle! I like this fraken. So while I'm now in a habit in naming my creations (oooh check me out) I call this creation, Mushy Brown. Original I know. It's quite a nice colour, a hint of purple in there, a nice fit for Autumn. I still want my dark chocolate holo though! Will have to work on that one.

Recipe (approx)
5 drops Nails Inc Jermyn Street
5 drops Rimmel 60 Seconds Torrid
3 drops Beauty UK Golden Chesnut
1/4 bottle Miss Sporty Simply Brown
Rest Clear Polish
3 Scoops Spectraflair

Thank you for reading as always!

A bit of Klean fun - Chunky Holo Black

Hi ya all

So this is my 49th post. Wow doesn't time fly when your having polish fun. I want to say a big hi to all my new followers! Hello :-) So chuffed that anyone givse my little page a gander.

Today I have another Kleancolor polish - Chunky Holo Black. This is such an unusual polish, not because of the glitter (that's stunning) but because of the brown jelly consistency. I overdid it buy using 2 coats. Should of just stuck to one.

As you can see it's a brown jelly rather than black, although when indoors it's more darker in appearance. Didn't get an indoor shot though. Sorry.

My application was awful but I thought I would show you the shots anyway. The holographic glitter is really effective in this polish, indoors and outside. This is layered over Rimmel Black. The glitter particles are larger in the Kleancolor polish in comparison to the other holos they produce. It smells a bit  funky but it's worth it.

I'm going to try and get the other Kleancolors I bought swatched, as hopefully I will be putting some new orders in on their metallic range. For $1.75 each you can't go wrong.

Ta ta for now.

P.s 5 days to go til Olympia Beauty (yeah yeah).

NYX - Dorothy

Hello all!

This is a scheduled post! I'm currently (or hope I am) in Torquay sunning myself up (yeah right more likely shivering). After swatching Revlon's Facets of Fuchsia I wanted to swatch the other Deborah Lippmann dupe I own, NYX - Dorothy. Apparently a dupe of Ruby Red Slippers. I bought Dorothy when I ordered my Kleancolor's from Beauty Joint.

With flash

SOOOO sexy! ha ha. Doesn't this just scream sultry and sexy. This is 1 coat of Dorothy over Rimmel 60 seconds Black. Luscious :-) I'm back from Torquay Monday so until then...

Enjoy folks!
