W7 - Salt N Pepper

Hello Everyone,

I'm enjoying a rare day off work. So nice, shame it isn't sunny (boo). Today I have a W7 Glitter Salt n Pepper which I picked up ages ago, its big on the blog network at the mo.

This is two coats of Salt N Pepper, a white polish with black glitter. Kinda dries to a matte finish, I've purposely left the top coat off on this one to show the the effect. Love the fact its a cheap alternative to some of the other collections out, at £1.95 its a BARGAIN. I got mine and two others 'Sprinkles' at http://www.nailpolishdirect.co.uk/

Have you tried these? Whats your verdict?

W7 Blue Lagoon

Howdy folks

It's been awhile since I cracked open a bottle of W7 polish. Today I have for you another favourite of mine, Blue Lagoon.

Flash

This is 3 coats of Blue Lagoon. A vibrant royal blue with purple shimmer/sheen, on the way to being a 'blurple'. Has some random silver glitter in there too. W7 polishes are such great value for money, slighty skinky with the not so free 3 formula, but they do have some amazing shades. Price £1.99 online.

Enjoy

Illamasqua Baptiste vs W7 Purple Paradise

Howdy,

Today I have a comparison with Illamasqua's Baptiste to W7's Purple Paradise as requested. I thought when trying Baptiste it had similar properties to Purple Paradise. So on to the comparison.

As you can see, similar but not total dupes. Both Baptiste and Purple Paradise contain that gorgeous pink iridescent shimmer, although Baptiste is darker and blue toned. W7's Purple Paradise is more of a red toned purple. This is two coats of both on the comparison shots (can't remember on the full swatches?). Purple Paradise was thicker but had more of that glow while Baptiste was for me the better formula as it was more opaque in 1 coat and applied evenly.  Price wise, a big difference. Illasmasqua polishes retail for £13.50 each, while W7 retails at £1.99.

Do you need both? Erm... I'm going to say maybe as they are different toned purples on the same wave length. Depends on if you are a collector or a bargain hunter. Both polishes are stunning.

Models Own Beetlejuice: Golden Green Comparison

Hi All

Well folks, I FINALLY got my Models Own Beetlejuice Collection...I'm like a billion years behind everyone else. Instead of a swatch post I thought I would show a comparison of Golden Green along side some of the other greens available in the UK. I didn't compare it to Channel Peridot, as a few other blogs have already done so, but I have compared it to W7 - Metallic Saturn and Nail Pop - Kimono.

Fingers; Ring - Kimono Middle - Metallic Saturn Index - Golden Green

Sorry the pics are not labelled, my photo editor hasn't got capability to add text to images. I added LA Colors - Cactus for no particular reason, just thought it might show contrast in the variety of Greens (I'm waffling).

Models Own Golden Green required 3 coats, Nail Pop and W7 only required 2 coats. Golden Green was the brightest green with a green-gold shift, while Nail Pop Kimono had the most duochrome effect with a green/gold/red shift. W7 Metallic Saturn was much darker , although still a very nice polish. Slightly murkier than the other two.

So no dupes although all on the same sort of wave length. Kimono is my fav by far, soooo pretty :-)

W7 - Purple Paradise

Hello Everyone

Today for you I have a stunning purple polish. W7 - Purple Paradise. Esther @ Fabfingertips mentioned this a couple of weeks back in one of my posts so I thought I would swatch it for you all to see its glorious glow.

Simply stunning. The application was really good on this one. Esther mentioned what good quality this is, and I totally agree with her. Still a smelly formula but that's what you get when a brand isn't big 3 free. This is 3 coats. Purple Paradise is purple based jelly containing what I can only describe as a 'pink glow'. Price? £1.99. I ordered this online from here plus shipping was included.

Don't forget to check out Esther's Blog Fabfingertips as she is totally fabulous!! and the fact I can drool over her Models Own Beetlejuice collection until I get mine :-)

Take care

W7 - Metallic Venus

Hello Everyone

Final polish today from the W7 Metallic Collection! Metallic Venus, a Pink/Purple/Gold duochrome shimmer. Sorry I took soooo many photos of this one :-)

Sunlight

Yummy Yummy Metallic Venus, such a beautiful polish. This is 3 coats, less sheer than Mars and applied evenly. Very strong duochrome effect in this one. Simply glowing goodness on the nail.

SO, final thoughts on W7s Metallic collection? Love it!!!!!!!! Even if it is smelly and full of chemicals. Also economically good value, they are cheap as chips at £1.99 each. Winners all round in my book! My only question, where is Earth, Uranus (don't giggle) and Pluto...erm is Pluto still classed as a planet? And wasn't there a new planet discovered?...Where's Patrick Moore when you need him!?

By chance if you are interested in knowing the answers, no need to tweet Stephen Hawking click (here) I had to look it up when writing this out of curiosity.

What are your thoughts? Any favourites?

W7 - Metallic Jupiter

Well hello there!

It's suddenly winter here in London. It has that damp, smoggy atmosphere which I'm going to admit, I quite like. I dug my winter coat out this morning for the first time.

Today I have the 5th W7 Metallic - Metallic Jupiter. A dark blackened glass flecked purple/blue duochrome, similar to Mercury but darker. Has some gold in the bottle, but couldn't capture on the nail.

Sunlight

This is 3 coats of Metallic Jupiter, application wasn't too bad. Built up well. I have to say this is probably one of my favourites of the collection. The duochrome is subtle, but looks really complex and stunning on the nail. I couldn't capture how deep and rich this was in reality. I'm a sucker for dark shades though. Has similar properties to Orly - Galaxy Girl, although Metallic Jupiter appears darker. Would be interesting to see how this compares.

Anyone else in winter gear yet? I need a new wardrobe, my jumpers are a little tight...no doubt they will get tighter over Christmas. I'm a greedy guts over the holidays.

Enjoy
