Not just another Green - Nubar Reclaim

Hi ya

Well half of the week done! Not like I'm wishing my life away, but the weekends are so appealing. Today I have for you another holo, not just any holo a green holo - Nubar Reclaim. Youv'e probably see it a bajillion times, so one more pic won't hurt.  Green is my fav, so a green holo is going to be top in my books. Wonder if Nubar will bring anymore holos out? Their Prism collection is pretty, but not like Reclaim.

Only needed two coats, dried completely smooth! If only all polishes applied so beautifully.

Just a note to any readers, as you can see my nails are not natural. It's not because I'm lazy or uneducated about the perils of acrylics, I know exactly the damage acrylics can do to the nail. Unfortunately I have to wear latex gloves for work, which not only damages my cuticles and dries them out, it makes my nails break at a very short length. *Sigh* I can think of no worse fate then not being able to grow even nubbins, so hence why I have acrylics. I've tried sooo many nail strengtheners but none seem to protect my nails from the damage the gloves do. If anyone has any tips or solutions, I would be grateful for any advice. Until then plastic talons it is.

Until Next time, toodles.

OPI Electric Eel

Hi all!

Hope your week is going swell. I swear I've just eaten about 2 pounds of cherries to myself. Definitely a recipe for disaster :-S Today I have for you another little treasure from 'the nail shop'. OPI Electric Eel. Lovely colour in the bottle, like a light gooey green with a bronze duochrome effect. Its pretty sheer on its own, so best used for layering. Came out of the OPI Brights Collection 2005.

Electric Eel on its own

Now, although this polish was a beautiful shade of lime gooeyness. It was a pain in the buttocks to apply. Gooey by colour gooey by nature, but I think its age had a lot to do with it. I layered it over Rimmel Black 60 Seconds nail polish, any dark colour would do.

I haven't put most of the pics up, the mani was that disastrous. I'm not the best at painting my nails, and the gone bad formula was too much for my lack of experience.

Please ignore the bad bad bad nail painting. I'll promise I'll practice loads :-)

Not only did I really like the colour of this polish (despite the poo application), the main reason I purchased Electric Eel was because of the name. It reminded me of the Eel Song by The Mighty Boosh. I love this programme. It's full of weird surreal nonsense, totally unique and totally British. It's like marmite you either love it or hate it. I was lucky enough to see Mighty Boosh live at the Brixton Academy London a few years back. Blooming Brilliant! Shame it's no longer running.

P.s Hasn't 7 days flown. My blog is one week old! Yay!! Have a great Tuesday!

Tag Team Mani - Milani Hi-Res + Color Club Wild At Heart

It's a beautiful day here again in sunny London. You know what that means folks, holo swatches!! I do love holos (who doesn't right). I don't own many of them at all, but I've got a couple of lovelies to show you here. Milani 3D Holographic Polish Hi-Res and Color Club Wild at Heart.

Both purple holos. Hi-Res is a light lilac holo while Wild at Heart is a deeper darker purple, with a more linear effect holo. Both really amazing, both super FAB.

Both applied like a dream and dried super quick. Hi-Res required 2 coats while Wild At Heart was much more saturated and only needed 1.

Twinkle Twinkle

I purchased Wild At Heart from ebay for only a couple of quid, Milani I purchased from Beauty Joint who also stock Kleancolor Nail Polish (Got me self some chunky holos :-) ) and deliver Internationally.

OH ok just one more beautiful pic!!

Enjoy peeps

China Glaze - He's Going in Circles

Hello Everyone.

Well today I'm enjoying the sunshine and relaxing. I love my Sundays. To celebrate the fact it's a wonderful day. I have for you China Glaze - He's Going in Circles from the Kaleidoscope Collection. It's described as a sea foam green scattered holo. Its the only one from this collection which I own. I only own one holo from the OMG collection (proper newbie). I stumbled across it in the little nail shop down the high road. I paid £3 for it (can you believe that!). I swear that little nail shop is amazing, it's like Aladdin's cave. I find something wonderful every time I visit.

It's a beautiful polish. So smooth and dries super quick. I love it. I then used Bundle Monster's BM-221 stamping plate with a Rimmel Black 60 seconds nail polish. This polish had gone a little thick which helped it stamp better onto the nail.

Sooo sparkly! Hopefully I'll find some more of these little babies and build up my holo collection. Hope your all having a wonderful weekend. AND a BIG hello to my first followers!

Ever found polish beauties randomly?

All About ME ME ME

Hi everyone

Here I have for you two polishes from Me Me Me Cosmetics Classic Collection. These polishes come in a really cute bottles decorated with a little cherub. Application brush is slightly on the chunky side, but workable. I really like the names of these polishes and the fact that each have 'Their own story'.

The first polish I used was Proud, a dark murky/khaki green which looks very dark on the nail under artificial light, while brownish green in natural light. It's a lovely creme colour which applies opaque in two coats. Very glossy. The second polish, Patient, was a strange colour. It appeared in the bottle as a light beige with a green tone, but applied on the nail as a grey (strange) but still lovely.

Proud -83

Patient - 79

I used Patient with Bundle Monster's BM-204 nail stamping plate. Although this polish stamped ok, I don't think it was opaque enough and the colour was lost when stamped. Despite this the mani still looked quite pretty.

I will definitely be purchasing more Me Me Me polishes in the future. There are a few creme colours I have my eye on. Me Me Me's online store is currently running a 3 for 2 promotion on their polishes priced at £4.50 each. Bonus They do ship internationally. The range is also available at some selected Superdrugs stores.

Snap, Crackle and Pop - MUA Nail Quake Polish

Hey there

Today I have a short post because my camera decided to go pop. I recently purchased two of the new MUA Nail Quake Polishes. Broken Arrow (purple crackle polish) and Shattered Ice (silver crackle polish). I really like this budget brand, and in particular adore their makeup face primer. It's a wet primer rather than a weird gooey texture primer. Having dry combination skin, I find that this primer does wonders. Anyhoo, here I have for you Broken Arrow.

I used Rimmel's 60 Second Nail Polish in Coralicious as the base before I used Broken Arrow on top. These were the only pics I captured before my camera decided to go bonkers. Hopefully it's just a temporary glitch and I'll get it working again soon. I really liked the effect, I'm not really a 'Pink' person but the purple just took the edge off enough for me to stomach.

I had this little combo on for 3 days, not one chip! Only slight wear around the tip of the nails. MUA Nail Quake Polishes are available in selected Superdrug stores and available in 6 shades, priced at £2.99 each. What a bargain!

Enjoy folks

Leopard Print Mani

Hey folks,

Today I have for you my attempt at the 'The Leopard Manicure'. Seeing as China Glaze has helpfully put a video guide on how to complete the look on their site (See Here), I thought I would give it a bash.

Now, as you can see from the wonderful execution (lol) it was a bit fiddly. For me this was a 'Monet' style of mani. From afar, this looked absolutely fab on my nails. Up close it just looked like a load of blobs not done very well. My mates were impressed at it, so I guess that's all that matters :-)

Products Used

Base - Color Club's - Love 'Em, Leave 'Em
Blobs - Beauty UK Nail Polish - Golden Chestnut
Squiggles - Models Own Nail Art Pen
Topcoat - Nubar Diamont

What do you think of the 'Leopard Look'?
