Another Vintage - Misa Pepper

Hi Folks

YES I have for you another vintage nail polish (sorry). I'm in love with these old shades. Another purchase from the nail shop. Misa - Pepper is a Khaki/Olive green polish with a golden shimmer (warning very pic heavy).

With Flash

Absolutely a to die for polish. Such an unusual colour as well. I even got a nice compliment from a shop assistant in a local beauty store, This is two coats. Formula was good. I have one more Misa polish left to show you and that's my lot. I haven't got any polishes from their new collection. I really want Toxic Seduction though and Embroidered Emerald (another discounted polish).

Any other Misa colours/shades you would recommend?

NOTD - Gosh Early Green

Hi Peoples

Today I have the second Gosh polish I purchased recently Gosh - Early Green. It's a light grassy green polish. I experienced the same sort of problems as I did with Rebel Yell. Bubbles and uneven application. I even took my mani off and re-applied. Still problems when I tried again. The colour was lovely though, a real spring shade.

This is 2 coats. Colour isn't that accurate either. This looks more neon in the pics then it does in reality. It's more muted when on the nail.

Have you tried any Gosh polishes recently and experienced any similar problems?

Andrea Fulerton Trio Nail Polish - Smile in a Storm

Hi Everyone

Today I have Andrea Fulerton - Smile in a Storm. It took me a while to purchase one of these as I thought they were slightly on the expensive side (£7.99 each). I caved in though and purchased two, this one and Petrol in Water. The Trio system is basically polishes designed for layering. The bottle is double ended and contains 2 polishes which can be worn on their own or layering them over each other for a third colour/effect. Not a bad idea that.

The first polish is a gunmetal grey polish. Perfectly on trend with polishes like Chanel Graphite being recently released. Not saying it's a dupe but rather it's in the same area of metallic finishes. Here it is on it's own.

And here it is with the second polished, a sheer pink-purple duochrome layered over the top. I did swatch this on it's own, but my nails looked manky (sorry).

Reminds me of a bubble for some reason. The gunmetal looking polish was a bit of a pain to apply. It was a bit stodgy so I only did 1 coat. Drying time took ages as well. The idea is a good one although I do think these formulas could be improved for better application. Colour was lovely, really striking. I will try and get some pics done of the second Andrea Fulerton Trio I have. Purchased them both from Superdrugs.

Have you tried any of these trios? Any thoughts on the concept?

Accessorize Nail Polish Rock Star Pin-up

Hi all

It's official. Accessorize nail polishes are fab! Today I have for you one of their bootiful polishes Pin-up. I have quite of a few of their polishes in my collection, my only complaint is that the bottles are small (10ml). Pin-up is a purple/plum based polish containing purple glitter. Very similar to China Glaze - Mummy May I in the bottle (might do a comparison) although I think Mummy May I contains larger glitter particles.

Only needed two coats. Formula was lovely, no problems at all. Dries smooth, although I did use a topcoat. Available at selected Superdrug Stores, Accesorize UK and retails for £4.00 each.

NOTD - Gosh Rebel Yell

Hello Everyone

Here today I have Gosh - Rebel Yell, a polish from their Limited Edition Collection. Rebel Yell is a inky blackened teal creme. Full opacity in 2 coats.

Colour is nice although the teal tone doesn't translate well once painted on the nail. The formula was also cack. I had a nightmare applying it, bubbles, uneven coats and application brush wasn't the best. I have plenty of Gosh polishes which apply like a dream, what happened to this one? This was just a bit too thick. I might give it another go and try with thinner coats. I didn't use a basecoat, Nubar Diamont topcoat I used, but only to even it out a bit. Nars also have a brick red polish named Rebel Yell which came out in Autumn 2008. No idea what the name signifies really although Wiki says its a American Civil War battle cry. Billy Idol also has a song named Rebel Yell.

I picked this up at Superdrugs for £4.99 along with another Gosh polish (can't remember the name). Swatch of that to follow soon. I love how some polish names have a little (albeit random) story behind them.

Take Care
