NOTD - Stargazer 121

Hello Everyone

Well a short post today but lots of pics. Here I have for you a wonderful polish. Stargazer - 121. For those not familiar with this brand, Stargazer are a UK based company which started off in 1978 on a market stall in London. Stargazer polishes were available in New Look but last time I looked in my local store, the stand had disappeared. I ordered a couple of bottles off this store, which only charged £1.99 for delivery. 121 is a bronze/pink/orange polish with flashes of dusky purple. Really pretty and applies well. This is 2 coats.

I didn't want to take it off. The other shades I ordered are pretty similar, but still nice colours. I'll try and get some more swatches done.

Have you tried this brand? I've seen some mixed reviews on the net.

China Glaze - Life Preserver

Hi Folks!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! Here I have for you China Glaze - Life Preserver from the Anchors Away Collection. It's a muted burnt orange. I lusted after this polish as soon as I saw swatches of this collection on the net! It's the only polish from the collection I purchased. I wasn't disappointed when I got it home.

I have a weakness for orange. It reminds me when I was a kid and orange was my favourite colour. My friends favourite colours was blue or pink, but mine was orange. I think it had more to do with the fact I loved orange Smarties.

Have you got any favourites from this collection?

Remember peeps, only Smarties have the answer.

Enjoy

Nails inc - Chalk Farm

Hi Everyone!

Today I have for the the first ever Nails inc polish I purchased - Chalk Farm. I adore this colour, a light cornflower blue. Nails inc is a great brand, although their prices are a little hefty. QVC UK usually does some good collections though.

My only beef with Nails inc polishes is that they don't age very well. Soon as the air hits them, 'bam!' they start thickening up. I did hear advice from the Nails inc woman on QVC that you should keep any polish in a cool place, she even suggested in the fridge. Dunno if I'll start storing them next to the milk and cheese but maybe nail companies could start thinking about a nail cooler or something...Dragons Den here I come.

Accessorize Nail Polish Rock Star Notorious

Hello Everyone!

Well. It's been a rough old week hasn't it? Well hopefully better times ahead for the UK (fingers crossed). Today I have fo you another Accessorize polish from their Rock Star collection - Notorious. It's a dark grey nail polish with a slight green/purple shimmer duochrome finish. In the bottle it look 'WOW' but doesn't translate so well on the nail. Not a true duochrome but almost! The shimmer only really shows when outside in natural light, then it gives off this greenish glow. It was a hard polish to capture.

First coat was a bit sheer, but a second achieved full opacity. Could of done with a third really. I put it on and thought, huh...where's the shimmer? But out and about in the sunshine the greenish glow came through. Doesn't pick much of the purple up though. Reminds me a bit of Bourjois Black Carbon, but I haven't got that to compare. Loving the name of this one, reminds me of Puff Daddy/P Diddy, whatever he's now called.

My cuticles are still looking HORRENDOUS, I'm currently using OPI Avoplex Oil in the little squeezy tube but it doesn't appear to be making any progress. I'll just have to be persistant and keep up the treatment.

Enjoy and have a lovely weekend!

Barry M Red Black and a little Flakie Goodness

Hey Everyone

After my post about Nfu.Oh UK, I've had flakies on my mind a lot and needed some flakie goodness in my life. I started out with Barry M Red Black, a lovely dark red jelly polish. Really vampy and super gorgeous. I love these types of shades. I'm not really a girlie girl. It's not often I have pastels and pinks on.

This is 2 coats. Slightly runny, and had some bleeding round the nail (not literately). I probably could have cleaned up a bit better. Dries to a super glossy even finish. I then decided to get myself some of them flakies on my nail and applied two coats of Nubar 2010 which is a sheer polish containing multiple coloured flakes. I love this polish, it looks good over any colour. Light or dark.

I hope Nubar doesn't decided to discontinue this polish, especially now that Nfu.oh is so expensive. I used 2 coats of 2010. I bought this from Feelunique.com which delivers for free. I think I paid around £6 odd for it, although the price has now gone up to £7.25.

What do you think? To Flake or not to Flake?

Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Purple

Hello All

Today I have for you one of the Kleancolor polishes I recently purchased Chunky Holo Purple. I started first with a base of Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish - Blue My Mind. For those interested in this polish I have some pics with applied on it's own but be warned my application was a bit sloppy as I was only using it as a base coat. Blue My Mind is a lovely royal blue polish, looks almost purple.

I then layered Chunky Holo purple over the top. Chunky Holo Purple contains rainbow coloured or 'Multichrome' coloured glitter in a sheer purple jelly based polish. Really pretty in the bottle and looks even better on the nail.

With Flash

This polish is beautiful. Looks stunning on the nail. 2 coats and you have this wonderful rainbow glitter effect. I can't wait to try the other 3 I purchased! I purchased my polishes from Beauty Joint online for $1.75 each which is around £1.00 a bottle! Super Bargain. I think delivery was around £9 but I bought quite a few polishes :-)

Have a lovely day folks
