Superdrug News - Gosh New Colours, Glitters and some Sweeties

Hi Folks

Just some news from Superdrug. They have released 4 new limited edition colours (one which I showed you a while back Rebell Yell).

See below and click for larger image

Tips for AW11 nails
GOSH’s new nail collection offers four new sophisticated lacquers in rich jewel shades; Forest Green, Rebel Yell, Attitude and Berry Me. High gloss, rich shades and excellent coverage.
But in this new world of nail embellishment even the most sophisticated nail can take a little bling.
We’ve matched each of our new limited edition AW11 shades with a GOSH nail glitter. Paint a sweep of clear gloss over the tip of your glossy lacquered nail and sprinkle over nail glitter dust. Wait to dry then blow off the excess leaving a glossy glitter French manicure style tip. Our favourites are black with a graphite grey glitter tip or scarlet on scarlet.
Limited edition GOSH nail lacquers £4.99, GOSH nail glitters £3.99

Superdrug have also started their own Retro Sweet line with the packaging inspired by Nail colours (strange) but I'll go along with it. Two of my favourite things in life.

Not a Bieber fan but...

Howdy Everyone

Today I have a swatch of one of the Justin Bieber polishes from Nicole by OPI - One Less Lonely Glitter. Now I'm not a Bieber fan but I saw this in Claire's Accessories and I thought "I'll give it a go". One Less Lonely Glitter is a translucent polish containing irregular light purple glitter. I think this was 4 coats although 3 had enough coverage. I was just being extra.

[BLING]

I know sound effect descriptions are not needed, but you get my point. This polish was definitely blinging on the nail. I liked it and I thought I wouldn't. The application brush was a bit funky. It's supposed to be a 'New/Nouveau Perfect Stroke Brush' but in reality it was a huge stubby brush that was designed for people who have fingers like a big toe. Polish price was on the hefty side, I think over £8.00 (can't exactly remember?) but OPI is not a cheap brand so I wasn't expecting a low price tag.

Any Bieber fans out there? Tried any of the Nicole by OPI polishes?

Enjoy

A little Gem

Hello Again

After that moany post, I thought well we all need a little sparkle. Here I have Nubar - Gem, a sparkly purple/brownish duochrome polish with holographic glitter from their Prism Collection. It's a beautiful polish and interesting colour. A bit textured as the glitter is quite chunky. This is 3 coats. Formula was good considering the glitter.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

Massive Rant

Hi Everyone!

Well Sunday again, end of the weekend. I spent my day traipsing around Central London which was a totally pointless exercise. I came back very nearly empty handed with no purchases what so ever. My first disappointment was Topshop's flagship store at Oxford Street. I wanted to pick up their nail colour Mover and Shaker, but they didn't have it. I asked the two shop assistants about the colour and they looked at me like I made the nail polish up while giving this vacant expression on their heavily made up faces. Ergh. Come on girls it's in their blooming core collection!

Next stop, Boots to pick up the lovely Chanel Peridot. I have some club card points which I thought yes! I can justify the £17.50 price tag if most of it is paid with club card points. Er the 'computer says no'. Boots do not accept part club points transactions on Chanel (whats the point of club points then?). Then I thought I'll have a look at the Orly polishes they have in Stock. Jeez have you seen the size of their bottles of Orly polish? Thimble with a lid that's all I have to say on that matter.

Next House of Fraser for Deborah Lippman polishes on Oxford Street. I thought YES Deborah will have the answer to my polish cravings. Nope. Their selection was abysmal. Had none of the glitter collections or any decent shades at all for that matter! At this point I was ready to pack up and give in. I decided to check out the Illamasqua stand in Selfridges. I didn't find any polish but I did find a lovely man who matched my foundation up for the new Skin Based foundation range. I'm an 8 :-). He was lovely, really informative and had fab nails (wearing Scarab). No vacant looks or an expression like a doe caught in headlights, just a good sales assistant. Bravo.

The End. Sorry for the rant but again come on! its in their core collection! I'll let you all know how I get on with the new foundation.

Toodles for now

MUA Nail Polish New Shades

Hi Folks

Well, I think someone heard me moan because the weather has been lovely today here in London (woop woop). Today I have for you two of the new shades from MUA which I picked up this week at Superdrugs. MUA - Shade 22 and Shade 23.

First up is Shade 22 - a deep plum purple creme. Dragged a bit and had a slightly tricky application but 2 coats and you have this beauty.

As you can see from the water droplet on my ring finger it started to rain when I took these and lighting was pretty horrid although the colour is quite accurate. Next up is Shade 23 a dusty sage green polish which was a DREAM to apply. Loved this color! Also 2 coats.

As I said before I really like this budget range and with colours like this being released they are going to be a winner in my books. Keep them coming Superdrug!! Each polish costs £1.00 or 90p if your like me and have a Student NUS extra card you can get 10% off in Superdrug stores. 90p!! Now that can't be bad.

On another note I've joined Twitter but haven't yet worked out how to link to my blog page (so not tech person) so look me up if you fancy it!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!!

Accessorize Illusion Nail Polish - Pink Spice

Hello All!

Where has England's summer gone? We've had about a week of sunshine and that's it! It will be blooming Christmas soon! To brighten up my day I had on this lovely number, Accessorize - Pink Spice. A stupendous glittery glass flecked red polish with slight duochrome red/orange finish. This was 3 coats I think.

Pink Spice is supposedly a close dupe to MAC Bad Fairy and OPI The Show Must Go On. I haven't got Bad Fairy but I do  have The Show Must Go On, so I thought I would do a comparison and paint my index finger with the OPI colour.

As you can see, OPI The Show Must Go On is a much brighter red and has less of a duochrome effect. The polishes however do have the same type of finish and are very similar. I only have a mini bottle of the OPI shade so finding a close match is cool with me. I think I prefer Pink Spice anyways it's a bit deeper in colour and cheaper at £4.00 a bottle.

Hope the weather ain't too bad where you are!

NOTD - Stargazer 133

Hey Folks

Well I've had a couple of days not doing much and I feel mighty relaxed. Today I was supposed to be making a trip across to Camden Market for some bargains, but it got cancelled (BOO HOO). I love Camden, it's such an eclectic part of the city. I would happily live there if I had the chance.

Today I was sporting a second Stargazer nail polish - 133. A gorgeous dark plum/brown shimmer polish. Application brush was a little funky on this one bristles poking out randomly. Still applied well and had good coverage in 2 coats.

Super gorgeous! I teamed this mani up with a bracelet which I made myself which I hadn't worn yet. I took some pics so I could share with you. I LOVE jewellery, cheap, expensive, plastic, glass, metal, gold, silver! I don't care, I love it all. I'm very blessed to have a mother who makes beaded jewellery, so I get goodies all the time!

I don't think it will last long, but hey I can always re-string if all fails. Hope your having a wonderful week peoples!

Take Care
