Hidden Shimmer...Accessorize - Colorado

Hello Everyone.

Yup its still raining here in London. We've had approximately 0% sunshine this Summer. I know moaning about the weather is a British pastime but seriously, I've not worn my sandals at all this year! Eurgh. Onto polish talk. Today's polish was released by Accessorize for the Spring, its part of a collection consisting of American themed shades. This one is called Colorado.

Natural Light

This is 3 coats of Colorado. Its a light grey shade containing the most pretty pinkish hidden shimmer. It has a real ethereal feel to it. Thought I wasn't going to like this one much but I think I like it the most. The shimmer isn't as prominent I would have hoped, but still a very nice and unique colour. Price £2.95 (I think?) from Superdrugs.

Nails Inc - Belgrave Mews

Afternoon Everyone,

Had a good weekend? Mine has been a bit dull, the bad weather here has totally ballsed up my plans. I'm hoping it improves soon!! I have a Nails Inc polish to show you today - Belgrave Mews, saw this one as part of a collection on QVC and I wanted it straight away. I'm a sucker for a good green.

This is two coats of Belgrave Mews a sage green shot with copper shimmer. I got this off ebay in the end, as I didn't want any of the others and I couldn't afford the whole collection. Applied superbly.

Sally Hansen HD - Resolution

Hi Everyone!

How you all keeping? Today I have a really nice green metallic from the Sally Hansen HD line - Resolution.

This was 3 coats of Resolution. Applied with no problems. Nice huh? Its so glowy, has hints of gold and purple in there too. The flash shots really make it pop. I think I picked this one up on ebay for under £5.00? Green and duochrome...whats not to love about this beauty. I've got some Sally Hansen Opals on the way from the states, sooo looking forward to receiving them!

Embracing the trend - Neons

Hello there,

How are you all? Thought it was about time I got out the summer shades. If you go through my past posts you'll find that I have more of a dark taste in polishes, greens, browns and vampy shades. Pastels and Neons are usually not my 'thang' but with Festival season firmly set neons are definitely the trend to match the wellies and floppy boho hats. So here's a few bright vibrant shades to adorn your nails while braving the English weather and portaloos.

These are all from Color Club's - Wicked Sweet collection. A collection of neon scented nail polishes. Some of them are shimmers which are also rather nice. If your not a fan of scented nail polish, China Glaze also have a neon collection out (here). My favourite here has to be the bright neon green shade - The Lime Starts Here. Color club do some fantastic collections and are quite easy to pick up on ebay. I got these out of TK Maxx for £7.99.

If you looking for a super bright neon pink then China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy might be up your street. For more muted neons then Illamasqua's Stance and Nomad might be a good choice.

So any plans to attend a Festival this year? I missed out on the Hackney weekend, so gutted!

Glossy Box - June

Howdy folks

I love having a nose at what everyone else got in their Glossy Box. I've not always been a fan of my contents in comparison, but I suppose that's the joy of it all? Erm maybe not, I still think a Universal box is a better option, but to be fair my last couple of boxes have been okay. This months I'm quite pleased with. Here's what I got.

Dermablend™ Ultra-Corrective Foundation Cream Stick (RRP  £19 / 12g) - Corrective concealer. Looks alright. I quite like heavy concealers as I have loads of freckles. Not really the most exciting sample, but I'll give it a go.

Glossybox Serie Exclusive Pro Beauty Brush (no price) - Another Glossy box product. Goes very well with last months mirror compact. Not the softest brush but I like that its something which will last.

Caudalie Eaux Fraiches Zeste de Vigne Fresh Fragrance (RRP £26 / 50ml) - Caudalie writes "combines the fragrance created by orange and lemon leaves when rubbed between the fingers with sparkling lemon, sweet orange and energizing mandarin". Good sample size, smells like lemon sherbet. Loving the Caudalie products so quite happy I got this.

BM Beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer (RRP £8.00 / 4g) - Liked the last BM product I got. Only thing with these that the powder goes everywhere when you open the pots. I like the fact that other loose powder brands usually have the protective lid with holes in to stop spillage. This is quite a nice shade, has a slight shimmer to it.  

MeMeMe Cosmetics Nail polish in Sensuous (RRP £4.50 / 12ml) - Yay I love getting mini polishes in beauty boxes (for obvious reasons). Not a massively 'high end' polish but I like Me Me Me products. The colour is okay, a very 'safe' shade that's not going to offend the less hardcore nail polish fans.

Overall yeah not a bad box. Nothing particularly offensive or horrendous in sight. I like all the products and I shall look forward to next months box.

Barry M - Copper

Hello Everyone

Hope your having a fab weekend! I have one of Barry Ms newest releases today, which came out a couple months back. Barry M appear to be upping their game in the polish department with even having commercials on the tele, something which I haven't seen any other nail polish companies do. I like Barry M, I have a whole bunch of them. They are always reliable in regards to formula. They also seem to be bringing out new finishes to the UK market including the Chameleon and Croc effect. Still light years behind the American market but we are getting there. This is Barry M - Copper.

This is two coats of Copper. Formula was really good I thought for a glitter and pretty good coverage. The copper/golden micro glitter really gives a lovely two tone effect on the nail, warm and glowing. Not the most 'Summer' shade but its a great polish to go with the neutrals. I wore this one as an accent mani too, with all my nails painted a nude shade, while painting my ring finger with this which also worked really well.

Price £2.99 available from Superdrugs and Barry M , although this one doesn't appear to be on Barry Ms online store for some reason?

Whats your staple Barry M shade? I also love Raspberry, one of my favouirte reds.

Topshop re-release Nails in Lead

Hi ya all,

Quick post regarding this Topshop re-release. I was really excited to see this again, as its on my wish list. Nails in - Lead was part of Topshop's Autumn/Winter 2010 collection which was a limited edition. It appears that Topshop has added it to their core collection - how fab!

Available here online for £6.00. I'm going to hunt it down at the weekend :)

Color Club - Nouveau Vintage

Hi Everyone,

How are you all? I've not had much spare time to post regularly, sorry. I'll hopefully rectify that soon as I get in the swing of my new routine. I've started a new job, its quite demanding but I'm enjoying it. Today I have the mani which I've been sporting for a few days Color Club - Nouveau Vintage. I know this is a fall/autumn polish but I like it so much. I've not really got into the neons yet for summer.

This is 2 coats of Nouveau Vintage, could of done with another maybe. Love the complex colour  of this one. It has brown/green/copper/gold shimmer in a mahogany coloured base. Reminds me very much of the finishes which LA Colors Cactus and Metallic Olive have. I got this in a set of Color Club's Back to Boho Collection from TK Maxx.
