Bloom Cosmetics - Bianca

Hello Everyone,

Remember when I said I got some Bloom products on the cheap at Superdrugs? Well today I have one of the polishes which I picked up on the 1/2 price, buy 3 for 2 deal they was running . This is Bloom - Bianca.

Shade

This is 2 coats of Bianca, a scrumptious blue/green sea green with glowing golden green shimmer.Very jelly like, and super glossy. Applied nicely. Could of done with a third coat, as I experienced a little balding. Usually Bloom polishes retail at £8.00 each, but with the deal I paid £4.00 plus I got another polish free. I also picked up some shimmery blush dust. I think (don't quote me on this) that Superdrugs have discontinued Bloom Cosmetics from their stores, but some stores still carry the odd product or two. I was very lucky that when on holiday, the Superdrug store in Newquay still had loads of Bloom products for me to drool and deliberate over.

What do you think a good deal?

Piu Mosso vs Molten Lava

Hello Everyone,

Hope your having a wonderful weekend. I recently acquired RBL's - Piu Mosso in a fab swap with Karen @ Frazzle and Aniploish. I was so grateful, as it was a massive lemming of mine. I also tracked down Estee Lauder's new Molten Lava and noticed that they were similar. Thought I would do a comparison for you.

Flash

This is two coats of both Piu Mosso and Molten Lava. Both applied lovely, although Piu Mosso was definitely more pigmented and could have been a one coater. As you can see both Piu Mosso and Molten Lava contain that lovely warm red/orange shimmer. I think that its slightly more pronounced (only just ) in Molten Lava. Piu Mosso is more of a navy blue while Molten Lava has a more of a dusky grey blue tone.

In the shade these look very similar, almost black. The warm shimmer isn't very noticeable at all, although if you use 3 coats, allow drying time, then gently wipe with a cotton pad with a small amount of remover, the shimmer can be enhanced, as the pigment appears to sit below the polish surface. Then top it off with a clear shiny topcoat as the polish remover will dull the polish. Voila, give it a try.

Price difference? Both are quite 'high end' and Molten Lava retails at £14.00 for 9mls with £3.95 standard shipping on Estee Lauder online while Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes retails for around £11.50 for 12mls however the shipping to the UK is a little pricey (another £12 approx based on the weight of one bottle). Piu Mosso is currently of stock although I hear through the bloggersphere that it will be re-released in the Autumn.

What do you think? Dupes, or would you own both?

Glossy Box - May Anniversary...Bald Eyebrows Anyone??

Hello Peoples

I have a confession! I signed back up to Glossy Box. I was missing my monthly fix of beauty products, so back on the Glossy Box bandwagon I went. Plus it was Glossy Box's Anniversary. Here's what I got...

Osmon Berber Hair Treatment (rrp £19.99 for 100mls) - This smells lush, like a bag of pic 'n' mix but nicer. Its apparently a treatment for dry and wet hair. Very much looking forward to using this.

Apivita Express Beauty Masks (rrp £3.50 per sachet) Looks okay, glad I got two sachets, I know others got a tube of mud mask, but I'm happy with the sachets...honestly *sigh*.

Noble Isle Summer Rising Bath and Shower Gel (rrp not stated) - This is another product which smells divine. A British bath and body brand inspired by the Bristish Isles. Look forward to taking this on holiday with me.

Lolita Lempicka L'Eau en Blan and Eau de Parfum (rrp £65, 100mls). These also smell sweet and summery. Glad to see two samples as these are usually free.

FREE Glossy Box Mirror - Nice touch Glossy Box, quite handy too.

HD Brows Grow Baby Grow (rrp £29.95 per tube) - Now this one made me raise a brow (excuse the bad pun). I was like huh what's this? Not the fact it was for the folically challenged in the brow department which confused me, some people do suffer from having sparse eyebrows due to over plucking, illness and the alike, however Glossy box stated the wrong info on the product card.

As you can see Glossy Box states Grow Baby Grow is for fine lines and to firm delicate skin, although this clearly designed for helping eyebrow growth on the HD brow info.

Overall I'm happy with this months box, I feel I've actually got my money's worth and all the products smell gorgeous. I know some people was unhappy with receiving false eyelashes made with real human hair, instead of the pricier HD brow products. Once again I think age has something to do with it...maybe those over a certain age stop wearing false eyelashes and start going brow bald?? No, on a serious note, I think Glossy Box should really consider having a universal box, as consumers are always going to think the glossy box is greener on the other side.

Whats in your box? Anything you like/dislike?

Glitter Gal - Dark Purple aka Bruised Ego 3D/Holo

Hello Everyone,

Another hot sunny day here in the UK so a perfect opportunity to get out a holo polish (like I need an excuse). By the way, thought I would let you ladies and a few gents know that when I popped into Superdrug at the weekend, they was running an amazing deal on Bloom products, 1/2 price! plus 3 for 2 and I got my student discount on top of that! If your local store still carries Bloom products, check it out. I'll show you the two polishes I picked up soon as I get a chance. Now holo time, today's choice is Glitter Gal - Dark Purple also known as Bruised Ego.

This is 2 coats of Dark Purple, glorious isn't it? Applied perfectly. I purchased mine from Llarowe here although there are a few other sellers are holding this brand such as Ninja Polish.

What polish is your go to 'sunny day' polish?

Barbara Daly Fashion Nails - Pirate

Hi Everyone,

What glorious sunshine it is here in London. Hopefully its here to stay. Today I have a polish I picked up from Tescos from the Barbara Daly Fashion Nails range - Pirate. Its a rather odd colour, so of course I had to purchase it.

Pirate (cool name) is a nude/greige/beige with micro flecked green shimmer. Don't think I have the right skin tone to pull this off. This is 3 coats. Formula was okay, a little thick. I found it difficult to capture the green shimmer although its there. A all round nice peculiar colour.  Price? £3.00 for 7mls available here.

Any Barbara Daly fans out there?

H & M - Lady Luck

Hello Everyone

Today I have one of H & M's recent additions to their nail polish collection - Lady Luck. Duochrome/Multichrome finishes have been big in the last year or so and it's great to see the high street stores catching up and embracing this trend.

This is 2 coats of Lady Luck, a green to blue metallic duochrome. I think it's actually rather nice, Lady Luck has quite a strong chrome appearance on the nail, and less streaky then I expected. I must do a comparison to Missha HGR01, although I think this slightly darker. Price £2.99.

What do you think of H & M polishes? Any that I'm missing out on?

Gabrini - 351

Hello Everyone!!

It feels like a century since my last post. I've so missed you all! Well, all my essays have been handed in, after two weeks of blood sweat and tears. All done now, which is great as I can now concentrate on posting more.

Today I have a Gabrini polish I picked up a while back, not a massively well known brand here in the UK. I picked this up from a Asian hair and beauty supply near me. I did have another Gabrini polish in my possession, but for the life of me I have no idea where it has gone??

This is 3 coats of 351. A squishy orange polish with golden shimmer. Loved this one on, applied really smoothly which makes me think its not 3 free. Smells pretty ghastly too, but it looks ever so pretty. I think this is a brand originally from Turkey. I'm going to hunt down my missing bottle.

Enjoy

W7 Blue Lagoon

Howdy folks

It's been awhile since I cracked open a bottle of W7 polish. Today I have for you another favourite of mine, Blue Lagoon.

Flash

This is 3 coats of Blue Lagoon. A vibrant royal blue with purple shimmer/sheen, on the way to being a 'blurple'. Has some random silver glitter in there too. W7 polishes are such great value for money, slighty skinky with the not so free 3 formula, but they do have some amazing shades. Price £1.99 online.

Enjoy
