Beetle Larvae - A Scarab Spranken

Hello Nail poppers

Finally the sun came out for a split second this week for me to photograph the holo franken I created using Illamasqua - Scarab and MUA - Shade 7. I also used some Barry M - Red Black and some Nails Inc - Saville Row in this one as sometimes spectraflair can dilute a shade making it less vibrant.

Here it is...Beetle Larvae

Shade

Sunlight

Flash

Really pleased with this one, I think its quite christmassy too. More of a scattered holo in comparison to other sprankens I've made. Of course I could have used my holo topcoat over Scarab, but it wouldn't have been so fun :-)

Have a wonderful evening all!!

Pumpkin Spectraflair Franken Attempt

Afternoon All

Hope your all having a wonderful fabulous amazing weekend! Today I have for you that Pumpkin holo fraken attempt I did for Halloween. Erm not sure if its a success or not? I like the colour and I think its not a bad attempt at all but it's nothing like a pumpkin lol. More like a Squash. I couldn't tell you the exact recipe for this, I threw in anything and everything in this one. I was going for more of the outside of a pumpkin, the hide or rusk or whatever the name for it.

Okay so I have this Orange Rusty Rose colour...more like a Peach maybe? Different I suppose :-) Anyhoo it is what it is. Name for this? Couldn't think of one. None at all. My creative energies have deserted me completely. As I can't give you a recipe but I can tell you some of the polishes I used:

China Glaze - Life Preserver
Topshop - Country Bumpkin
Rimmel - Tangerine Queen
2true - Orange Metallic (not sure what shade sorry!)
Rest Clear polish and 3 scoops spectraflair

Enjoy the rest of you day and weekend peeps!

My Meh Spectraflair Fraken - A Khaki Holo

Hello Peoples!

Today I have for you another holo franken (hope your not sick of these). Let me tell you I have had so much fun with the spectraflair. It's like being a kid again playing with a chemistry set or being in science class. I'd been dreaming of a Khaki holo for quite some time, so I thought I would try and create one. This is my attempt.

It's not quite there is it? I'm a bit 'meh' over this. In theory this should be great, but it doesn't quite pack the punch I wanted to. It needs to be a deeper green. I'm going to have a search and see what other polishes I can throw in it. China Glaze - Westside Warrior might be an option. So name for this one is 'Mossy Meh'.

Recipe (approx)

10 drops Essie Sew Psyched
10 drops MUA - Shade 23
10 drops Me Me Me - Proud
5 drop Me Me Me - Patient
Rest Clear Polish
3 scoops Spectraflair

What holo franken would you make if you had the chance? I've also had an attempt at making a Pumpkin colour for Halloween. I'll get some swatched up soon to show you.

Thanks for reading!

Mushroom Holo Spectraflair Fraken

Hello Lovely People

I have another spectraflair fraken post, this time my attempt at a brown. I wanted a deep chocolate brown holo, instead I got a mushroom. I'll take that. Please excuse the horrific cuticles :-( Ahhh they disgust me! Why can't I have have pretty fingers?!

I only stopped adding more of the Miss Sporty polish because I had reached the top of the bottle! I like this fraken. So while I'm now in a habit in naming my creations (oooh check me out) I call this creation, Mushy Brown. Original I know. It's quite a nice colour, a hint of purple in there, a nice fit for Autumn. I still want my dark chocolate holo though! Will have to work on that one.

Recipe (approx)
5 drops Nails Inc Jermyn Street
5 drops Rimmel 60 Seconds Torrid
3 drops Beauty UK Golden Chesnut
1/4 bottle Miss Sporty Simply Brown
Rest Clear Polish
3 Scoops Spectraflair

Thank you for reading as always!

Raspberry Holo Spectraflair Franken

Howdy Peoples

How are you all? Well today I have for you my attempt at a red holo fraken using the spectraflair I acquired. I had one failure at attempting this, but it wasn't too bad as I now have a very nice pink holo franken :-) In the end I cheated. I got a small bottle of Colour Works Red (a red based jelly) and added 3 tiny scoops of spectraflair.

This was taken as the sun was setting so the lighting wasn't great, I took some pics indoors with the flash which shows the holo effect much better.

The red jelly base of the Colour Works polish worked really well with the spectraflair. Hardly any settled to the bottom of the bottle. While this isn't a true red more of a raspberry colour, I still love it.

My dodgy name for this one is Blow A Raspberry :-) My nephew who is 7 months old blows raspberries all  the time, especially when he's being fed, spraying everyone with baby food goo (why is all baby food orange?) So inspired by a cute baby with bad table manners.

P.s Is it Spectraflair or Spectraflare? I haven't a scooby?
