L.A Colors - Apricot

Hello Everyone

Hope your all having a restful weekend. Today I have a 99p purchase for you, L.A Colors Nail Lacquer - Apricot.

This is 3 coats of Apricot. Formula was really nice on this, although slightly sheer. Apricot is a peachy/apricot polish containing iridescent shimmer. It's quite a pretty shade and I think bang on trend for Spring/Summer 2012. The shimmer gives it a softness, making it a more muted shade of orange. Purchased this one from Beauty Base in Westfields Stratford.

Anyone tried this shade?

Hits Speciallita Mari Moon - Dreamer

Hello Again

Thought I would fit another sneaky post in before the weekend, as I'm not going to be around much. Here is some swatches of the third Hits Mari Moon polish which I got in my last Llarowe haul - Dreamer.

This is 2 coats of Dreamer. Wow, this looked spectacular on! The application brush was perfect on this also, so not all the brushes are dodgy in this collection. Dreamer is a bright purple/blue/fuchsia/orange duochrome. Formula was also really good. This one applied the best compared to Unconventional and Cool. 

You know what this means? I now need the rest of the Mari Moon Collection :-) I'll have to save the pennies for a couple of weeks, as i'm on a no buy for a month :-(

Currently out of stock on Llarowe, although if this one becomes available, I recommend it.

Illasmasqua - Notepad Yellow

Hello Everyone

I'm on a bit of a Illasmasqua polish kick at the moment. I picked this one up on Ebay a couple of weeks back, although I can't find out anything about it? Its called Notepad Yellow. Looks slightly like 'Load' but not sure if this is a old discontinued shade?

This is 3 coats. Bit of a pain in the butt to apply, like most yellows. Liked how it looked though, very milky. I could see this one being worn on the toes in the Spring. Bit baffed about where this one is from though?

Anyone know?

A-England Legend Collection - Ascalon

Afternoon Everyone

I'm supposed to be on a study day today, although not much studying happening to be truthful. Today's choice of polish? A-England -Ascalon. 

FLASH 

The sun wasn't being my friend today. I went to work yesterday in the blazing sunshine. Day off today...it's cloudy!. Sods law. This is 2 coats of Ascalon, a grey base holo with a purple/green duochrome. Formula was once again perfect. Loved this one on. You can see the purple colour shift more in the flash shots. Dragon is still my favourite so far though.

A-England Legend Collection - Dragon

Hello Everyone

There is nothing more I love than a green holo. When I saw the new A-England Legend collection I was super excited. I love the A-England concepts around their polish collection. Polishes inspired by fantasy, myths and legends?! Hell yes, I'm there! One thing with a polish for me is that a name gives a polish an 'identity'. When I attended Illamasqua's event last week, the majority of the polishes I could name without looking at the bottom of the bottle, not just because I'm a weird crazed polish collector, the names just stuck in my head, with labels such as Load and Stagnate who could forget!

Anyhoo I digress, I like a good ole theme to my polishes. Butter London also markets their products well and comes up regularly with catchy and cool names for their polishes, even if they are no where near London? Which slightly bugs me...but now on to the polish! A-England - Dragon, a glorious name for a polish. The Legend collection is inspired by St George, the legend of the English patron Saint who slayed a dragon

This is 1 coat of Dragon. I wore this polish for 2 days, plus wore gloves for 7 solid working hours and only had slight tip wear. Really impressed with that. The holo effect isn't linear like Nubar - Reclaim, more scattered and a darker more mossy green. Dragon is gorgeous.  After purchasing this and St George, I was so impressed went back to A-England online and bought Ascalon and Princess Sabra. 

I know everyone has been singing this collection's praises, but I really think A-England's Legend collection has set 2012 off to a great start. Available from A-England or Llarowe.

Make Up Store - Madeleine

Afternoon Everyone

Hope your weekend is going well, and you are avoiding the chilly weather! Roll on Spring time! Today I have another holographic polish, Sorry! (well truthfully I ain't sorry coz holos rock). This is a holographic polish from the Make Up Store - Madeleine. I've been after this polish since last year, was super happy getting my grubby mitts on it.

This was 3 coats of Madeleine without the recommended base coat. The polish was expensive enough without buying a base coat as well!. Formula lived up to it's bad reputation (very much like Gosh Holographic but thinner). The holographic effect of the polish was stunning and very strong, although probably not as holo as Gosh Holographic. Madeleine is a light pale peachy holo. It was much paler than I was expecting, although still pretty. Was it worth the £11 price tag? In all honesty probably not, but I wanted it so bad.
