One lonely Sally...

As I mentioned yesterday, I won't have many posts this week due to my balls up with managing my swatching schedule. I usually swatch on a weekend which didn't happen this week! Doh!

Today I have the only Sally Hansen polish in my collection...the glorious Amber Ruby from the Nail Prisms line. Wish I had some more of these, once again I missed out.

So I may have missed out on most of these, but I have this one, and it's a goodun :-) Amber Ruby is a red/orange/gold/green/ duochrome. This has a super thin formula, this is 4 precious coats. The application brush was horrendous, just a thin strip and extra long due to the shape of the bottle.

So the Prisms line was released in 2002. What has the polish world been doing in the last 10 years!? There hasn't been a collection line like this since. Yes there are long discontinued brands which contained duochromes/multichrome polishes, but Sally Hansen's Prisms line contained over 40, YES over 40 polishes! including shimmers and holos. It puts Models Own Beetle juice collection in perspective really, just a small dot on the duochrome world map.

For Christmas, could I please have the resurrection of the long discontinued Sally Hansen Prisms. I've been a really good girl and I think they would look pretty on.

Feelunique Beauty Box - December

Howdy Folks

I'm really annoyed with myself, I got no swatches done what so ever due to me getting home so late today, what a wally. Never mind. I also got some fabulous news, I was the winner of Melanie's 23rd Birthday Giveaway over at The Color Palette. SO blooming chuffed, I've never won a giveaway before. Further good news - I got my Feelunique Box this morning. I was really shocked to get a delivery on a Sunday? Post office must be starting a holiday schedule or something??

TIGI Bed Head Candy Fixations Sugar Dust 1g (FULL SIZE) Very similar to last months product, (Schwarzkopf Professional Dust It Mattifying Powder) although that was 10g. This is pretty big packaging for just 1g. Still a full size product which is usually priced at £9.35.

Annick Goutal Mandragore Eau De Toilette 25ml - Really impressed with the size of this scent bottle. I can't work out if I like this scent or not? Slightly reminds me of a 'hippy old school teacher' type of smell which doesn't sound appealing. Anyhoo, a really good amount of smelly stuff which usually retails at £58.65 for 50mls.

'Annick Goutal Mandragore Eau De Parfum has a higher concentration of aromatic woody notes that accentuate the power and vitality of this mysterious blend. A magical potion that acts as a soothing balm for the skin.'

Top Notes: Bergamot and pepper.
Heart Notes: Mint and star anise.
Base Notes: Boxwood, ginger and mandrake

Figs & Rouge Sweet Geranium 100% Organic Balm 8ml (FULL SIZE) - Wearing this as I write, Very hydrating and feels great on my lips although this also has the 'hippy old school teacher' kinda smell to it. I'm not a huge fan of floral scents, and this is a bit too floral for my liking. I would like however to try some of the other varieties which Feelunique stock such as the Pomegranate balm. Usually retails at £3.49 a pot.

Clarisonic Nourishing Care Cleanser 30ml - Not tried this yet, although I'm glad I got a match to my skin type (Normal/dry skin). Feelunique writes:

'This luxurious, hydrating, creamy skin cleanser provides natural moisturisation for dry, delicate skin. Olive oil and shea butter help condition and moisturise. Provitamin B5, sodium hyaluronate and sodium PCA promote skin’s ability to attract and retain moisture. Japanese green tea helps protect against free radicals associated with skin ageing. Nails Inc Oxford Circus Nail Polish 4ml - Yay! another polish...although it's pink grrr. Why oh why does it have to be pink?! Oxford Circus is a very pretty shade of pink, but its not me at all. Retail Price £11 usually for 10ml

Living Nature Samples x3 2ml - Consists of three samples, a Vitalising cleanser, Hydrating Toning Gel and Nourishing day cream. Not tried these yet either, but might give these a go before bed tonight.

SO final thoughts on my December box? A tad smelly or should I say fragrant box this month although I'm still very impressed. So some of it isn't to my taste. True. But its fair to say Feelunique are not going to please everyone, every single time. I'm gladly going to continue my Feelunique beauty box in to the new year with eager anticipation for my January box. :)

LA Girl Addict - Idol

Afternoon Nail Poppers

Today I have one of the LA Girl Addict polishes I ordered from Cherry Culture a couple of weeks back. This is Idol, one of three which I ordered and the one I was looking forward to the most.

Outside - Natural Light

 Indoors - With Flash

Idol is a dusky navy creme containing golden shimmer. This is 1 coat, such good coverage. The shimmer didn't really show in the outdoor shots or much in real life, but it was a very gloomy day without much natural light. The flash shots show Idol's potential. Really like this shade, can't remember for the life of me how much I paid for this, although it wasn't much, a couple of pounds i think?

Models Own Beetlejuice: Golden Green Comparison

Well folks, I FINALLY got my Models Own Beetlejuice Collection...I'm like a billion years behind everyone else. Instead of a swatch post I thought I would show a comparison of Golden Green along side some of the other greens available in the UK. I didn't compare it to Channel Peridot, as a few other blogs have already done so, but I have compared it to W7 - Metallic Saturn and Nail Pop - Kimono.

Sorry the pics are not labelled, my photo editor hasn't got capability to add text to images. I added LA Colors - Cactus for no particular reason, just thought it might show contrast in the variety of Greens (I'm waffling).

Models Own Golden Green required 3 coats, Nail Pop and W7 only required 2 coats. Golden Green was the brightest green with a green-gold shift, while Nail Pop Kimono had the most duochrome effect with a green/gold/red shift. W7 Metallic Saturn was much darker , although still a very nice polish. Slightly murkier than the other two.

So no dupes although all on the same sort of wave length. Kimono is my fav by far, soooo pretty :-)

New Barry M - Lilac Foil Effect

Hi ya all

Well its Monday again! Boo!! Although the holidays are creeping closer. Today I have for you Barry M's most recent addition to their Foil Effects range - Lilac.

This is 3 coats of Lilac. Application was slightly streaky as with the other foils, although slightly better than the Silver and Gold Foil. I tried a little stamping for you using a random Bundle Monster plate over Me Me Me -Wild. The stamp didn't come out great because I'm poop at stamping, although it does show you how well Barry M's Lilac stamps (which isn't too bad).

I actually quite liked this combo, quite feminine looking considering how 'un-girly' my tastes usually are. Available exclusively from Superdrugs for £3.99 for a limited time only.

LA Colors - Cactus

Hello Everyone

Hope your weekend is going wonderfully! Today I have another nail-tastic bargain, LA Color's - Cactus, a shade from their Color Craze line. I picked this up when I visited Westfields in Stratford last week in Beauty Base for an amazing 99p. Best 99pm I've spent in ages.

Cactus is a blue based jelly containing green and gold metallic shimmer. This was 2 coats. No problem at all applying this one. You've probably seen this already on a few other blogs. I love love love it. Best of all, I don't feel guilty about buying it at 99p.

Any LA color favourites? Recommendations?
