NOTD - Orly Galaxy Girl

Hi Peoples

It seems I was born into the nail polishing world a little too late. Many rare and unique polishes have become extinct before their time and I wasn't around to buy them (bummer). One of the polishes which I was after was Misa - Embroidered Emerald. Well it's never going to happen, so an alternative polish needed to be found. With dupes like Urban Decay - Bruise also being discontinued Orly - Galaxy Girl was my last resort. I've read that while the finish is completely different the colour is very similar.

I don't think Galaxy Girl really looks like Embroidered Emerald, maybe similar but I have nothing to compare it with, only images on the net. BUT Galaxy girl looks beautiful on. This is 3 coats. The plum to blue duochrome is stunning. Glad I got it anyway!

To all the rare and lovely polishes that got away eh! Too many to count :-)

  1. I love Galaxy Girl but use it only rarely as you can't get it anywhere easily. Have you tried Space Cadet from the same Cosmic FX collection? It's stunning.

  2. I know what you mean about long gone polishes - I just have to think it was never meant to be (and stop myself spending silly money on Clarins 230 on ebay)

  3. @fabfingers I have got that one! It's gorgeous too. I actually have two dupes aswell, but glad I have some backups :-)

@cali I really have to try and avoid looking that one up on ebay! I've just bought some colour changing pigment, so hopefully I can recreate some of that gorgeousness!

  13. Misa: Embroidered Emerald - isn;t like this at all, though the bottle I have looks different to the bottles I have seen on the 'net = often the case with duochromes. Embroidered Emerald is mush greener. Of course Galaxy Girl is amazing too! If you want to find older Misa's have you looked at Venus Nail Supplies? Easy to spend money there - beware that the MK Nails stuff is very very variable - some stunning, some utterly horrible!
